I've argued with Moose before, argued with moderators, global moderators. Agreeing with someone of a higher rank with you doesn't mean you're a suck-up. I don't want to be a moderator anymore anyway. Try to dispute my criticisms in a logical manner, starting with the first one.

For someone who knows biology better, is there any way at all that being left/right handed changes your sexual preference? It *might*, though I really doubt it, because both preferences are determined inside the brain, but they're in different parts of the brain...

So I'm ambidexterous. Should I be bi?

Anyways, hilarity. I love the people that are being offended by something that says they'll statistically slightly more likely to be gay than their' right handed brother, it's not calling you gay. You're saying it's calling you gay. Deep seated inner struggle, perhaps?

No, something else. And I try to keep my feelings inside, this discussion just made me snap for another reason which I'd like to also keep again to myself.

One Word. Wow.

And Cloud, we are not calling all left-handed people gay. It's not like anyone said
Left-handed people are gay.
(Offtopic: Lol I typed [/gay] instead of
for a sec..)

Really, Moose just means that a higher percentage of gay people are left handed than right. Look at the example Moose posted, and try to understand.

No, not at all. At most, they're two things with a similar trigger in pre-birth development.

I simply found the topic interesting and decided to ask you out of curiousity. If you find this offensive and wish for me to stop, all you have to do is tell me that you don't wish to discuss this. Homsexuality is NOT a curable disease, as (*according to what I've read*) it is determined via hormones (along with many other things in the human brain) before birth.

I have no right to say things? Excuse me? I have as much right to say things as you do, or as people have a right to have their own sexual orientation and preferences.

I also suppose these people have no rights as well.

Homsexuality is not curable. If the theories about brain development are true, it could become PREVENTABLE. This would require monitoring and control of the hormones in the mother's womb as the child's brain is developing. If not obvious, this would post serious ethical and moral issues. I wouldn't support it, and I think that very few people would.

If you wanted to get extreme like that, yes, you could use deterrents, threats, and violence and whatever else to manipulate people. However, that wouldn't suddenly make them heterosexual. That will just make them avoid sex completely, asexual, if you will. I don't foresee much voluntary use of such methods though... I don't think a homosexual is one day going to decide "This is wrong and horrible! I need to stop!" (unless they're taking a vow of celibacy for religious or personal reasons, or want to reform from nymphomania, which are whole other issues)

I don't really care if you make a topic, but I'm not going to pursue it any further. It's a fruitless battle. Just because nature has many factors on a person does not neccesarily mean homosexuality is one of them.

I don't believe that homosexuality is a genetic or pregnancy defect.

I think its a choice
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Mini Moose 2707 on 2006-10-24 at 21:54:31
Who used the word defect? It's something that would just happen. If some people are born differently with varying desires, that doesn't make them wrong or defective.

The following is my opinion, I have no scientific or research backing it.
Lakai... my response to that is that it CAN be a choice to a certain small extent. My thought is that people's brains are geared for certain amounts of attractions towards either sex. There have to be some people (such as true bisexuals) who can "choose" to a certain extent. My thought is that some people's brains are geared for attraction towards both sexes, and those people can "choose" if they so wish. However, these cases are extremely rare. In the end, biology will win out over social conditioning. Someone who is completely wired in one way or the other cannot be changed (well, their choices made of free will, anyway).

well... you have to believe since this is almost close to common sence.

if the mother is sick during pregnancy, it will effect the babies health including the brain.

on the news... they tested these gay couple to raise a baby to see if the baby is going to grow up gay or straight.... 15 years later.... the child is straight. you cant teach a person to be gay, it could only work by genetics or since the day the baby was born.

did anyone pay attention in health class?

oh and what a coincedence... i was watching Conan and the researchers says that being gay is threw genetics.
