But then again, you decide what I think sounds good or bad, so I guess trance/techno do suck!

Its your choice to be a mindless sheep, not mine.
So because I like techno, I'm a mindless sheep? Perhaps, I just like high tempo music, and don't like lyrics... Which all of my techno falls under... You might as well call everybody who listens to country a hick, or everybody who listens to rap a gangster, etc.
Why don't you read the part I quoted from your post.
Techno/Trance is great music, and is probably the hardest to create (although other genres except for Rap/Hip Hop are also hard to create).
Rap/Hip Hop shouldn't even be considered music. It takes no talent to rap.

If it takes no talent to rap then why dont you go make a record and get rich?
It is just as hard to rap as to sing, in my opinion rap is harder because you have to rhyme the ends of each verse. And all you need to make trance music is a good music editing program to create vibes, beats, etc.
Just like all you need to have to be good at photoshop is photoshop itself, right?
I personally don't like rap as a genre, but I accept that rap music can be quite the opposite of the stereotypical label a lot of people seem to have put on it.
I despise things like pop music and and the screaming, incoherent metal bands that seem to popping up everywhere, like weeds. I really don't get how people can earn millions of dollars a year just by singing lyrics that they didn't even write.
All the rap I ever hear is talking about hos and killing people. Hip hop? Strippers. I like techno. Daft Punk r gud.

No, you don't. Adding "izzle" to the last word in every line does not count as rhyming.
I despise just about everything that has been considered mainstream since 1930, excepting jazz.I never said adding izzle to the last word of every line and frankly I have never heard of a song that has ever done that.
Ignorance.
Show me a rhyming rap that doesn't use slang and/or words that aren't in the dictionary (UrbanDictionary doesn't count here)
Uh.. rap "artists" write down lyrics, as does everybody else. Freestyle takes talent, rap doesn't; there's a big difference.
People buy this stuff because people are dumb. That's the world we live in; can't change anything about it.
ADDITION:
And DTBK has a huge point there.. which shows that rap provokes incorrect use of words, which is probably why a lot of kids are pretty dumb (no offense to anybody if you're one of these kids).
Plus, not everybody can just make their own album, because you'd have to spend time and money to record it, but most importantly, writing lyrics isn't as easy to some people as it is to others.
But then again, if so many people like rap music, I guess it can be considered music (some songs, that is.. most of em are no good [in my opinion]).

I bet you could find some Canadian rapper that doesn't use slang
Unless.. "A-Licky Boom Boom Down" is slang XD
Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth - GZA
Life is a test, many quest the universe
N' through my research, I felt the joy N' the hurt
The first shall be last N' the last shall be first
The basic instructions before leavin' Earth
(Killah Priest)
Knowledge this wisdom, this goes back when I was twelve
I love doin' right but I was trapped in Hell
Had mad ideas, sad eyes N' tears
Years of fear, but yo my foes couldn't bear
I searched for the truth since my youth
N' went to church since birth, but it wasn't worth the loot
That I was payin', plus the prayin'
I didn't like stayin' cuz of bizzie-bodies
N' dizzy-hotties
That the preach-ass souped up with lies
Had couped up, lookin' at loot, butt N' thighs
During the service, he swallowed up the poor
N' after they heard this, they wallowed on the floor
But I ignored, N' explored my history that was untold
N' watched mysteries unfold
N' dropped the jewel like Solomon, but never followed men
Cuz if you do your brain is more hollow then
Space oblivia, or the abyss
With no trace of trivia, left with the hiss
Does it pay to be deaf, dumb, or blind
From a slave he was kept from the mind
N' from a caves he crept from behind
N' what he gave was the sect of the swine
When the bible, that condemned the pig
I don't mean to pull your hems or flip your wigs
But we used to wear a turban, but now were in the urban
No more wearin' beanies or dress like the genie
No hocus pocus cuz I focus on the facts
N' put it on the track or brought it through the wax
I speak on Jacob, it might take up some time
N' too much knowledge, it might break up the ryhme
I did it anyway, just to wake up the mind
Of those who kiss stones or prays on the carpet
Those who sit at home, or sell books by the market
Need to chill N' get their mind revived
For years, religion did nothing but divide
chorus(X2)
I strolled through the books of Job to unfold
N' opened bibles, instead of hopin' on revivals
Callin' on his name N' screaming Halleluja
When he hardly knew ya, that's how the devils fooled ya
See, look into my eyes brethren, that's the lies of a Reverend
Why should you die to go to heaven
The Earth is already in space
The bible I embrace
A difficult task I had to take
I studied till my eyes was swollen
N' only arose when I found out that we were the chosen
I deal with the truth N' build with the youth
N' teach my son as he kneels on the stoop
Son, life is a pool of sin, corrupted with foolish men
N' women with wicked minds who build picket signs
To legalize abortion, the evil eye extortion
I quiz some with my wisdom
Before I converted I was perverted
N' knowledge was asserted
The study of wisdom, I perferred it
The understandin', it gave me mental freedom
I even learnt Caucasians were really the Tribe of Edam
The white image of Christ is really Cesare Borgia
N' uh, the second son of Pope Alexander
The sixth of Rome N' once the picture was shown
That's how the devils tricked my dome
I prophesized to save a man but no one gave a damn
For my nation, the seed of Abraham
Blessed with the tongue of Hebrew
Now we're strung on needles, N' some are plungin' evils
So study N' be wise in these days of darkness
Peace to my nephew Marcus
I cant find a place to upload the song but you can dl it and listen as it no where near like any rap song ever put on the TV or radio.
Well, I don't know about gross perversion of the English language, but this 'rap' seems to be generally.. wrong... I don't like the lyrics themselves.

Ten lines, the first ten, and how many rhyme? Zero.Depend on how you say them.
Edit: First & Earth rhyme although there not blatant rhymes like fire and liar they rhyme, I'd also like to use this as an example of a song that doesnt talk about killing people, pimps, hoes or bling.
Rhyme is a poetic term. If it isn't rhyme in a poem, it isn't rhyme in a rap. Things closely resembling rhyme or that appear to rhyme if purposefully mispronounced go against the spirit of rhyme in the first place. I think Ridin' Dirty or whatever that crap by Chamillionare or whatever is called sucks the hairriest of the buttocks.
Hence the reason one should avoid BET, Vh1, MTV, and most radio stations at all costs. As you insist on claiming all rap songs contain slang, I'd like to point out almost every genre that has lyrics in it uses slang, and yes even our precious rock contains slang. My point is slang shouldn't really matter in a song unless it is so rediculous it detracts from the song itself. And frankly I dont blame you on you opinions of rap music as your comment "Adding "izzle" to the last word in every line does not count as rhyming" shows that you have been exposed to crapty mainstream rap which most of the population is exposed to or crapty underground rap.
A lot of rap sucks, but let's not forget there are lots of different kinds of rap. My personal favorite is Christian Rap (yes.. strange, isn't it?) but.. I still don't like it too much.
I still dont know why kids like this stuff so much.
I agree with Deck that slang is not a huge issue; however, I have never heard a rap piece that would appeal to my musical sense in any way (and I hear a lot on the subway - there should be volume limits in iPods if underground), and I don't usually judge music by lyrics until after I hear the melodies and all - the rap I heard either doesn't have a melody or has a very poor melody. If it has terrible lyrics, it's just icing on my cake and more ammunition against rap
.
Ludacris. You haven't listen to rap until you listen to Ludacris.
Don't be a hater foo'
I remember deleting this topic when I moderated here lol.

Whose precious rock? I'm not supporting rock.So basically this thread has become a 'lets bash rap thread with our stereotypical thoughts of what rap is'?

excepting jazz.
That has to be one of the worst stereotypes about rap that I've heard. I've only seen Snoop Dog use it and somehow you think that that's what all rap is. I don't see rap rhyme much either.
