Well, before this topic gets locked, I'd like to throw in my two cents.

Arguing about religion and politics will get you nowhere, no one will admit they are wrong and you will argue forever until someone decides to be the bigger man and leave the conversation. It doesn't look like anyone is willing to be the bigger man in this conversation, so I suggest it be locked.

Bummer about that new patch eh? I personally believed in EUD's. Eh.

I never tried to prove God to anyone. I just said to stop pissing on those who do. It's especially bad with his faulty logic and poor arguments. He's got a megalomaniacal complex. He just says with certainty that he's right.

darth_ender if you believe me and Tavrobel were arguing about god then you have clearly not caught up with the argument in the past pages as you said you have.

And actually, my actual messages were never replied to. There were only smart-aleck comments, saying I don't kow what I'm talking about, but contributing nothing of his own. Crap, I posted again and I resolved not to. I'm really out this time.

I spend a long time deciding if i was going to make this post, since blizzard decided to comment the patch in 1 obscure line i have no reason to give more info directly about that, however, i think theres lot of people flaming each others, let me add a few words to try to calm that and give some moral points:

• about EUD, there was no way to "fix it for mac" or to "change it to become secure", there is no need to flame blizzard since they took the only solution they could use, but at least they made it fast.
  
• there is no need to flame i_hatett, he was the first one to consider EUD responsibly, and one of my biggest regret is having letting all of you ganging against him to say "YOU ARE WRONG IT'S IMPOSSIBLE" without being able to stop that. You all flamed him as much as he flamed you, but you didn't noticed it because he made the "minority report" and you were too much sure that you were right.
  
• I don't appreciate people saying "here is the evil guy that caused all those SC patch that destroy the game", whoever it is... there is a problem and it has to be fixed and you cant blame someone particular about the unhelpful side effects of the patch.
  
• But when a problem is found, it's better to react in a mature way ! this is a subliminal message for someone that should read the EITF draft : Responsible Vulnerability Disclosure Process . No harm done this time, nobody to blame again but you should all think about a better annoucement method. I belive (some) people can change.
  
• lots of people are talking about corrupted replay for this particular patch, anyone have at least 1 replay that they can currently watch in 1.13 but cant with 1.13b ? i really don't know if 1.13b corrupt replays from 1.1, i just would like to see if there is 1 example about it before i can know it.
  
• an important lesson to learn : don't mistake what you think for what you know especially when guessing if something is or not impossible. when the future prove you wrong you may or may not look stupid (depending if you react as good as yoshi for example), but it's still better to avoid to be wrong in the first place

And finally : sorry everybody about your big lose of the EUD, i know it could have been wonderfully useful for you, but DK said something like : bad things happen after midnight if someone feed the gremlin, and god know it's better to avoid gremlins even if they looks nice at the first sight.

I personally don't know why this patch would do this; I assume all they did was check a buffer.

I'm glad someone is looking at this in a mature, responsible way. Playing the blame game gets you nowhere.

Saying that the Chinese aren't smart is a stereotype, like saying that Jews are greedy or Muslims are terrorists. Dodging a tsunami is not easy, but we wouldn't stand much of a better chance ourselves.

Back to EUD triggers and patch 1.13b:
I don't like that change, but I know that I, alone, cannot change Blizzard's actions (I doubt even a group effort will). It was one of Blizzard's worst patches, since EUDs didn't pose a threat. Besides, if I had mad programming skills I might even be able to execute a small virues with a play wav trigger and a dupe map that constantly shows the text "Preparing Map. Please Wait...", no help from EUDs. Blizz didn't need to get rid of it just because it crashes Macs. I don't see them getting rid of the extended players.
