I have never heard of that file, and I have hacked into starcraft's mpq before. interested.gif

its just what you are downloading when updating, then SC removes it lol, u need to look at it before it get removed .... or if sc can't apply patch and it stays ...
i tried to open it with winmpq, but there are about 10 files : unknown .....
i think its the equivalent of the .exe u dl on the site but in .mpq, i suppose ....

I'm a little confused about the P161 "fix"

I still have to get all the files for thw 1.12 to work(melee maps)

But, P161 doesn't owrk anymore!!??

If it doesn't I am mad because I like myu map with the uncloaked templar... He looks so nifty! tongue.gif

The fix P161?
What a nice way of not to say it in their patch readme. I feel like makin a thread on Battle.net but I don't have a Cd-Key with which to make the thread.

Again... THEY DIDNT FIX PLAYER 161. Player 161 is a buffer overflow, and it just changed its effects when they recompiled StarCraft. They didnt fix any player!!!

yeah, go do that.

if we are lucky blizz will then notice people using buffer overflows in maps and will have the next patch automaticly remove all units with player > 12....
sound good?

Yep, it sounds good. *Max sees SEN, cool map making tricks, "uber" map makers go down the drain*. No, wait, it doesn't sound good after all!!!

When you ping, who sees it, you alies or everyone?

You see a green ping, your allies see a yellow ping, enemies see nothing.

You know how maps that are protected with old versions of StarForge have a messed up minimap? I wonder what happens when you play one in Melee and look at the minimap. Same with odd sized maps.

edit: I tried an irregular sized map, and there was no problem with the preview.

If the buffer overflows changed like clokr said...
Isn't it possible P145 (for example!) can now produce the effects of P161?
Or perhaps other players produce more interesting effects?

of course.... we have always said that they depend on the SC version and to a lesser extent the OS...

so, before the patch was released, cloaking a unit by using p161 would still work - even on a computer running windows 95 or 3.1 ?

You can only have "Map Preview" on melee! That's not cool

Not only melee. But not UMS. :/

When you read through all the profiles of ppl in the F list it boots you and wont let ya back in, like on D2 when refeshing chars. as if to say im a bot , who wud make a bot to view friends anyway.

the map preview appears to work for all the network types,i cant use ipx for some reason, but on melee for the oth 3 it definatly works.

when is the preview created?

Dont be silly, you don't want your RPGs exploration fun factor reduced.

Seems Minimap preview isnt working .....

You have to mouse-over the "Map Preview" text for the minimap to poke up.

Here's a best way to install the patch without reinstall, install the patch then starcraft. (more often works when you reinstall your computer)
