Ok sorry.....

MilleniumArmy and rest:
I would want to say something about me. First of all, it's true that I'm not very active, but get in mind that I live in Spain, that's 6 hours less, and I'm sleeping when the forum has the highest activity.
When I go to SEN almost noone is posting, and all the "reported post..." pms have been answered already, so I started to ignore them.
Also, I have a secret project to work on, wich I want to release as soon as posible.
If I do anything that you think that is wrong, just pm me about it or add me to msn/aim, I always like to talk the things, and I will probably remove the warn and apologize if it was my fault.
If anyone has a problem and doesn't want to use the random-moderator report post button you can tell me it through a pm and I'll try to help you. The main problem is that I'll do it while you are sleeping.

About the report post button, I think that it has some problems. The first one is that you don't know who will help you. That shouldn't be a problem anyway because are the mods on this website should be trusted by everybody, and the request will be answered faster.
The second problem is that two moderators might warn the same person twice, what I did once and I apologize to whoever I did, because there isn't anything like a list where you can remove a request when it has been asnwered. The button just creates automatically pms and sends them to the mods.
The third and biggest problem is that when someone clicks the report button what a mod first sees when it clicks the post link is the problematic post. I guess that any mod would actually check the posts before and after the current one to know what really happened, but I don't think that much mods will read the whole topic (specially if it is a 5-7 pages one) or know the whole story that might have been started on bnet or mIRC.

About the whole staff/mod team I think that everybody should trust all of them... well maybe except DT_Battlekruser who was a spammer ;P
What I really want to say to the rest of moderators is that we are here to HELP, not to get fun warning and baning just because I don't like this guy or I don't like the other one. I think that one verbal warning is always better than a warn, and I saw some mods not do so (I won't give out names). It's true that this website have had problems with "discipline", but I don't think that warning someone just because he called a mod "inmature little kid with a power trip", it's just an opinion and your job as a moderator is to respect it and, if he's right try to change your actitude, and if he's wrong tell him why he is wrong.

Sorry if I made it a bit long, but I just wanted to make sure that the comunity knows the reasons why I'm moderating like I'm modering and to remember to the mod team why and for what we are a mod team...
That's just my opinion though... the discussion is open..

PD: The DT_Battlekruser thing was a joke tongue.gif

Two of my warns are a year old, both of them are from Yoshi. I think that they should be removed after a while, I've learned from my mistakes!! (I'm at 80% now, so I need some breathing room)
Report, edit, etc...Posted by KaboomHahahein on 2005-07-05 at 09:07:56
Unless the warn decrease has be removed you should slowly have your warn decreased automatically so if you got then that long ago then it should be gone by now. But then the system of decrease never took effect until later, if it still exsists.

It was disabled a long time ago. The problem with it was that if someone joined and got warned right before the global lowering, they had a clean record again. Though I just got hit with an idea.... have a script that runs weekly and removes warns older than a certain amount?

Well, since Chuiu locked the thread I had posted, i'll do as he requests and post here (If he would have specified, I would have locked, and moved to here. But he never told us where)

QUOTE(Chuiu_os)
Like I said, I never knew QED had another meaning so how else am I going to take it but the meaning I know? I don't go looking up things I already understand. I was obviously wrong, but I still dont see how thats immature or bad of me - anyone else would do the same thing. All you had to do was point out what it really ment. No harm done. Also, Psycho was using a PM I sent him. I'll be more cautious in the future but it's little misunderstandings like this that happen everywhere in everyday life.

You made it sound more like an insult than a statement, and you cannot deny that.

Like I have stated before, if you were to research the issue and find everything out, then you wouldn't have this problem.

Yes, it did sound more like an insult than a statement, but read the above ^

In my eyes, you are to hasty in using your powers. All I request is a change in the ways you warn. Please research the issue more, and find out all elements to the issue, instead of just hearing one and then going straight for the warn button.

Because asuming "makes an ass out of you and me" (not meant as an insult)

This will take you to your last topic, where I stated this is the appropriate place for posting about complaints towards moderators.

And maybe you missed this in my last post:

From my point of view, I didn't assume anything. You stated something that was directly insulting to me, and Psycho said something that is already known to me to be slang. Since then you have stated that what you ment was not true, you said it was more like this and Psycho said I was wrong and it was like this.

Try to look at it from my point of view.

I can understand that if I were in your shoes. Also, I would have checked into it. But that's me, and we are two different enteties so, yeah.

And why can Mods spam and members can't?

We let some spam slide by. It's when it's constant or disruptive that I (I dont know about all moderators) try to do something about it. Just report every incidence of spam you see if it bothers you.

I wasn't spamming, was I, chuiu? :\. The spam that I take action against are the two page ones about some little squabble with something unrelated, then at the bottom it says: On Topic: [generic two sentence answer here that I already stated]

It doesn't look like spam to me, you're explaining yourself. But then again I'm not following the thread. yawn.gif

Chu has been doing a great job moderating tongue.gif

I noticed that "Reporting" posts actually does something.

Yeah i get about 10 reports a day (i guess).

Chu does alot of good stuff but many times he flames people more than he should, and he considers insulting himself a highcrime.

So all in all, Be greatfull you have your moderation powers.

As some of you may know, I recently changed my SEN account name to "StarEdit.net." As you also may see my account is now "Fortune" again. So in a nutshell, one of the moderators (not sure which one) took it upon themselves to not only change my screen name without asking me what I wished for it to be, but didn't give me the 300 minerals that I spent on the name change, either.

This was a very unprofessional thing to do, whoever did it. I will also add that no where in the rules does it highlight that "StarEdit.net" can not be your account. If it is something you feel should be against the rules (directed at SEN mods), then put it in there OR make the account un-creatable.

That is pretty un-fair...

If you want I can give you 300 minerals ermm.gif

Tell me, if you just joined the site and you saw posts by "StarEdit.net", wouldn't you assume that was a person in power? Changing your name to StarEdit.net was a stupid thing to do, and you should know better. I'm a nice guy, so I'll give you your money back, though.
