In any case, they never built it, just designed it. They put so much time into the desgin they are 100% it would work flawlessly. They just didn't build it because if it ever came to that, they didn't want some idiot president *coughbushcough* cracking the planet in two.

but seriously. they've been talking about how to get rid of an asteroid. they have a couple of plans. the first one, which i think is the best, is to have a big reflecty thing that focuses the suns rays to a certain point. this becomes like burning the antenae of an ant off, but on a much larger scale... and with more explosions. the second and third aren't as cool. they both involve pushing it. the second one just involves a suicide satellite that rams into the asteroid /somehow/ going a lot faster than it in the opposite direction. the third just involves gentle nudging with a couple of satellites.

How long did it take before the dinosaurs got struck by a meteorite? And we didn't get knocked out of orbit then (At least not enough to go floating to the sun so we would burn up) The dinosaurs were around much longer then us, before it actually happened. I know its just a matter of chance, but if we are exactly as long around as them, we would surely be advanced enough to stop it.

Also that a cheetah can fly and monkeys are actually smarter then humans, So basically you shouldnt get all worried for that, thats all I gotta say and if someone said that ok I didnt read other topics (to long)

Well its impossible to use all of the energy that is on the earth. If we use up the fossil fuels we will switch to solar or natural gas to power our stuff. If that doesnt work we will find something out. The sun gives us eternal energy, we are just stupid and took the easy way out, dig into the ground to get black liquid.
