So do you think we evolve into like super humans and have 6 fingers and everyone will be tall? o.o.. weird... ooo and noone has hair...
Natural selection is survival of the fittest, you either had a characteristic or you didn't. Evolution seems more on adaptation rather than natural selection, to me anyways, and that is the part that makes me questionable about it.
Natural selection is adaption. To answer a question that will come up (I'm just that good):
No mutations are not usually harmful; they're usually harmless.
To clarify CheeZe's point: Mutants are not monsters. A minor gene mutation is not when cows grow two heads. It's either some useless modification, or a different shade of fur, or better hearing, etc.
Branching off of Dr. Shotgun's summary of CheeZe's post: And that useless mutant will create more off springs than the inferior race and be more successful. That is natural selection.
the odds of a mutant finding another mutant with the same mutation is highly unlikey. even if it was able to breed with the main population the genes of the mutation wouldnt really take any effect.

not if the mutants still pass down superior traits down to their sons and daughters... Natural selection in another words is trial-and-error of nature based on traits and survival.
