I think the general opinion in America is apathy. Huzzah! If North Korea declared war on us, we'd probably just launch air strikes and missiles against them. We don't have any troops to spare, but we could destroy what little infrastructure they have left.
I assume Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory told a true story of the future. I guess Sam Fisher has to stop them before World War 3 (Except in SCCT, it was North Korea vs South Korea). But seriously, this does remind me of Team America where this one guy asks this korean guy and he got killed in a trap. If this is true, hopefully that they don't even use nuclear weapons I mean come on, fifty years ago Japan, US, Russia, europe countries removed their threat of nuclear weapons otherwise Earth is no more, but North Korea? North Korea possibily didn't listen and actually kept it just to protect themselves or use it against the US if they kept asking is just akward. If this does happen, I wonder if there would be flying drones.

But don't forget about south korea cause what if any of the weapons hit them?
then iam screwed. but if you see, it wont. but the winds will definately effect japan if any nuclear blast above ground were to occur.
That's not the point. The point is that if North Korea is backed into a corner and Kim sees there as being no way out, he will react will all the force under his command to destroy everything nearby.
Wow I just received an update that if Kim Jong Il sells a nuclear bomb to the terroists and they bomb the U.S. then the U.S. will claim full charges upon him...
But from the South Koreans they know Kim Jong Il has a very luxurious lifestyle with luxurious rooms good food etc. etc. and he plays alot of golf. (people hide behind bushes and place the balls in the hole if Kim dosn't play well and gets angry)
Kim Jong Il maybe compared to Bill Gates if you tell me. The entire piece of North Korea is owned by Kim Jong Il.
I think its funny that the us are considering backing down from north korea because theyre standing up for themselves and telling the u.s to freak off. Similar with Lithuania who bought several thousand AK-47's so the u.s started having a cry because lithuania were able to stand up for themselves.
Uhhh, the US doesnt get intimidated by any quantity of AK's, are you out of your mind dude? N. Korea is a compleatly different scenario, we're talking about nuclear weoponry in the hands of a power hungry, attention desiring, ego-driven dictator of a poor impoverished, starving country. If this guy could care less about his people, and have the audacity to stand up to not only the US, but the whole world, I believe we have the responsibility to make sure that he doesnt use what he's got. We're not scared, just taking precautions so that he doesnt attack an ally in the region like S. Korea, or Japan. The situation regarding nukes is shifting back to Iran anyway, so we'll see where this goes.
Uhhhh. talk about when that happened dude. But your right. However, I don't like how the situation is going. N. Korea did a hell of a job for U.S. actually. It almost and might give Japan a big kickass army and the U.S. ( wanting the Japan to watch over some of the areas in Asia ) fits that way. And North Korea just made a reason for those plans to be valid. I am starting to wonder if Kim Jung Il is truly retarded.
Kim Jong Il i dont think is running things by himself..
I never said the U.s was intimidated, i just said they dont like the fact r\that N.K or Lithuania have thier own weapons now. This means that multi national corporations cant keep those countries poor and make massive profits and dodge tax and not be put in prison. Lithuania also told mcdonalds and hungry jacks etc. to pay tax, i reckon if N.K did similar it would really help their country.
Yes Kim jong il is 'slightly' retarded.
N.K doesnt have any McDonalds or Hungry Jacks. They have no food whatsoever and Kim Jong Il says he doesnt like burgers. There will be no burgers in N.K.
( Thats how it works in North Korea. It's like a super-dictatorship. Stalinism and Marxism style with a little sprinkle of facism. )
I do not see anything wrong with North Korea possessing nuclear techonology. The same goes with Iran. If North Korea and Iran want to have nukes thats fine, they have every right to. The US is just afraid that since North Korea is gaining more power that its grip on the world will slippen.
No country wants the North Korea to have Nuclear weaponries not nuclear technology.
They still dissapproved of nuclear technology.
Its not even necessarily that the countries, Iran and N. Korea shouldn’t have nuclear weaponry (although I really don’t believe that countries with the type of grossly irresponsible governments that they have, should possess nukes) it's more on the premise that they have no qualms about selling that kind of technology, or the weapons themselves to some private organization who is willing to buy these nukes for exorbitant amounts of money (groups who's primary goal is to take down the US). N. Korea desperately needs money as is quite evident by Kim Jong's response to the UN's declaration that they were imposing very tight economic sanctions on them unless they returned to six-party talks. Keep in mind that before these sanctions were approved, Kim Jong Il's response to the world was that they will, "Under no condition return to six-party talks" he said that the only negotiating that will be done is bi-laterally with the US. When we (the US) said, "no" to that, and persued sanctions on N. Korea, Kimmy proclaimed, "Sanctions against N. Korea will be taken as a declaration of war." But its funny how less than two weeks later-- after sanctions were imposed on them, that the N. Korean ambassador said at the UN meeting in NYC that N. Korea agrees to return to six-party talks.
They need money desperately, and Kim weighed the amounts on the scale: Economic loss due to sanctions imposed for an undisclosed duration of time VS selling our nuclear technology/weapons for a blank check. And he actually had a spike of wisdom and figured out that that he couldn’t fit enough zeros on the check to amount to what he would need to compensate for the country's loss from the sanctions. So his ego was once again deflated when the US put him in his rightful place.

I doubt thats going to happen. Currently South Korea and North Korea are trying to build an alliance so Korea can be one again.
Because we (the US) don’t threaten to wipe an entire culture off the face of the earth. These sick fascist countries that desire nuclear weapons or already have them seek only to ultimately destroy Israel. That is what it all boils down to. But since Israel is our ally, we won't just let that happen, so as we declare that, we interfere with the radical's plans and they then redirect their hatred towards us. We are responsible with our weapons arsenal, and im sure that im going to get some flack for saying that from some far left people on this forum, but we are. I do not believe that the only instance in history that nuclear weaponry was used, was an irresponsible decision. Truman's painful decision to drop those bombs ended global war, and halted Nazism right where it was. These countries CAN NOT possess nuclear arms; it is a great danger to the world. Irrational leaders with those weapons will make irrational decisions with them, causing us to respond with equal or greater power as Condie Rice stated quite bluntly to the media. She said that if N. Korea was to launch at S. Korea or Japan, that the US would react with our own nuclear arsenal. This is what we are trying so desperately to avoid-- nuclear war in which, more than one nation has the nukes.
