I think you just hit the nail on the hammer.

Except the UK will also be part of the Axis. Thanks to bush and blair's "relationship".

Blair will be gone by the end of the year.

The British absolutely hate him.

Why do brits hate him...? War in Iraq? blink.gif confused.gif

Well you should also consider Blair is a friend of Bush. Most of the world dislikes/ disagrees with Bush and/or his polocies.

Here's a few reasons:
1. He supports the war in Iraq and has no plans to pull our troops out (what many people want). He is also under attack because of the deaths of many British soldiers in Afghanistan this year.

2. He follows the American line on foreign policy very closely. This angers people because it supports Bush and it feels like we have no independence in foreign affairs.

3. The Labour party is in a mess - there have been a lot of suggestions of corruption and some ministers have had to stand down due to sex scandals, breach of parliamentary law or conflicts of interest. John Prescott and David Blunkett are good examples.

4. The cash for peerages scandal. Basically, the Labour party offered peerages (making somebody a Lord) in exchange for vast sums of cash from businessmen. This is wrong for a lot of reasons.

5. He has failed to tackle the race-relations issue in Britain at the moment (tension between white Britons and Muslims - we have a large Muslim population).

6. Tax rises and inefficient government.

7. He's been in power for nearly 10 years. People think it's time for a change.

Can anyone here name the Prime Minister before Blair?

These are his potential successors as Labour party leader:
- Gordon Brown - Chancellor of the Exchequer
- 'Red' John Reid - Home Secretary and Stalinist

These are potential successors to him as Prime Minister from the other political parties:
- David Cameron - Young and image-conscious Conservative leader
- Sir Menzies Campbell - Very old Liberal Democrat leader

Venezuela wont join in a war against America. Only idiots think that. Cuba wont join in a war, either. Nor will Jordan, or Sudan, or Somalia. Why? They're weak little female doges. Look at that first post. The weaklings versus the strongest nations in the world? Are you on crack

Like doges, eh? What's that supposed to mean? BTW I don't think all of them are female, or they wouldn't be reproducing, and they'd all be dead a long time ago.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by JaFF on 2006-10-28 at 15:20:28
You missed his point.

Also, Snake)Ling, I would say that it depends on the country's leader and/or politics. For example: I live in a small little country called Latvia. We are "friends" with the US, and we sent troops to Iraq. A fiew soldiers, and a fiew dogs. Pathetic, istn't it? Well, this "help' (if you can call that help) annoyed some terrorist organisations quite fast.

So it's just a metter of the leader and/or politics: will he suck up to a bigger country's leader, or hold neutral, thus loose the ability to have a bite off the winner's cake, but ensure relative stability.

Supposing it did happen, they would all get their asses kicked. China would not ally with North Korea, either; China dislikes north korea. They do not support sanctions against North Korea because a food shortage there would cause a massive illegal immigration problem for China.

True but Japan will stay with america and same with most of europe seeing as they are ticked about North Korean's nuclear tests.

Most of the UN is very reluctant about supporting America anymore. If America declaires war on another nation for suspecting of having WOMD or something of the equivilence dont expect to be backed. Japan has already withdrawn its troops a long long time ago they were only in afganistan for about 2 months.

Of course. The original question was kind of silly anyway and reflects an immature view of history.

Why do you keep giving me bad feedback about my posts? I have my own opinions whether you like it or not. Japan is friends of south not north korea so either they'll kill n korea with america or not if war truly does occur. For a british man, you are quite rude.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by CaptainWill on 2006-11-01 at 03:34:16
I wasn't referring to you - and when have I given you bad feedback about your posts?

I was talking about the original question that opened the topic. To speak of an 'Axis' is ridiculous in itself and reflects how badly history has been 'Hitlerised' for the average person, and suggesting that a third World War is going to happen any time soon is similarly foolish.

Also, a lot of the opinions expressed in this thread seem to assume that international politics is a lot more simple than it actually is. Things have moved on quite a bit from the days of Mussolini and Hitler, and even back then alliances and the like were not completely clear-cut. This view that international relations is based entirely around political ideology is what I find immature. Internationa politics is based mainly around what the leaders of a country feel would be most advantageous for it.

The scary thing is that a lot of people seem to look forward to this war which is supposedly 'coming.' The realities of war are very different from what you see on TV or in the cinema, especially in the old feel-good patriotic films. Obviously America has never experienced a home front during a war and thus many's perception of just what war is, is unclear. Our cities had the crap bombed out of them during the war - it killed people and destroyed a lot of great architecture.

Anyway, the point is that people in general should learn something about history before embarrassing themselves. Also, Americans in general (I'm aware Marine isn't American) need to be a little less insular and actually learn about other countries, especially on a political level. I understand that the massive nature of the USA makes it more pertinent to study your own country first, but please make the effort to understand things outside your country too.

As for British people being polite - that's a common misconception. You'll find that I'm polite in real life, but I get frustrated by certain people in a debate scenario.

If you posted that as an ironic comment on Bush's description of an intangible terrorist threat as an 'Axis,' then you deserve credit.

Können wir nicht mehr auf Deutsch sprechen?

Anyhow, Will has a point that such a defined world war is very unlikely to ever happen again?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by WoAHorde2 on 2006-11-01 at 21:27:45
I doubt a "World War" will be fought again. I believe it will either be smaller wars, or in the future, on a much grander scale(Plane(s) vs PLanet(s)) Our politics are advanced enough that it would be near impossible to start a World War.

If there is another world war, it will happen during our lives.

No country wants another world war 3. And the more the world globalizes, the less likely of a chance another WW will occur.
