Then why do they care? it was an honest mistake at the looks of it, surely they should just back up. And for the record they are sad for being extra defensive because it's a chick... it's a freaking game...

Hello.

I am Saber, another player from TOP. I will answer few of your questions. First, Aphrodite is our newest recruit and she received significant aid. Most of it because we are CLOSED alliance that recruits only from our forums (Paradox Interactive forums) and we have existed for over 6 months. That being said we have some very strong nations (20M+) and very few new players each month. So our development is much quicker than normal nations.

Hell, our average nation strength in the alliance is more than 6000. You should really look who you deal with next time. Posturing against a nation so much stronger doesn't do good.

Now why I came here. First I thought Fela was a jerk who made up justifications. I wanted to ZI him (Zero Infra). But after reading up on the thread me and another TOP player felt obliged to help with paying reparations. We see how it was a mistake and were really impressed how all of you jumped to help him pay reparations. That reminds me of TOP. So we offer this (me and Bash, not TOP). I will pay 1 third of reparations (Voyagers part), Basharious will pay 1 third for Will and Felagund WILL pay final third.

This is a great offer, you would pay less then you made in damages so you shouldn't complain. Most alliances demand complete reparations or ZI. It is accepted throughout CN world. If you wage war, be ready to face the consequences.

You shouldn't see this as a insult to you, we mean no harm. We only want to help a new alliance, and we have been impressed by your attitudes (Will's and Voyagers mostly)

BTW. I loved Starcraft, played it for some time so that is one part of why I am willing to pay part of it.

I hope you accept this.

Okay I have to respond to this. (Sorry Litigator). We never offered anyone anything to join. We don't recruit like that. If people want to join they do, and only afterword do they get such big aid packages. The member you are talking about did not join because of aid at all, and it sullies her and our name to suggest so.

6 days, the person managed to get 200k worth of items? how the...?

Sorry for being in incredible disbelief about all this... but 200k, 6 days.

I'm Gustavus. Aphrodite is my fiance, so I am essentially speaking for her.

First, Aphrodite created her first nation on 12/8. This seems to have been fully established already.

Second, I was one of the founders of TOP back in May - naturally, Aphrodite joined the alliance with me. At least one third of our alliance brings in more than $1 million per day. This allows us to give substantial aid packages to new members. Aphrodite benefited from this program - hence her incredibly high efficiency.

Finally, I would like to show my (our) appreciation for all of this coming to a peaceful solution.

We're extra protective because she's my fiance, not because she is a woman. We are all close friends in TOP...in fact...we are pretty much exclusively friends and are not at all open to the public.

As for caring, I don't see why that's your business. She wrongfully suffered harm. Neither she nor the alliance as a whole should bare the burden of compensating her for this injustice.

Gustavus & ivanelterrible, thank you. That cleared up one part of my confusion.

But again, I am wondering what it was exactly Felagund did?
As in how massive was his attack?

Apparently, a RL friend of his was attacked by a nation whose ruler was named Corinth. In an attempt to make this aggressor pay for his actions, he attacked Aphrodite whose nation is called Corinth. Essentially, there was a case of mistaken identity.

I don't know how about you guys, but I'm not paying to bullies.

How the heck you know it's a girl anyway? Maybe it's just a guy faking a girl so you'd be "ESPECIALLY protective of her"? This all sounds fishy.

My apologies - I meant no offence. I was just explaining that some alliances offer aid packages to potential members when they go on recruitment drives. I was speaking in general terms and not disparagingly.

I pull in $200k a day, so it's no problem for me to compensate. And Gustavus, we're just coming out of a small conspiracy (oo.arthas.oo, who still needs punished) within our ranks, so we're edgy to begin with.

And Saber, I for one think that offer sounds more than reasonable...

ADDITION: Although I don't pretend to have any real say in the final agreement.

DEAD, even though you believe this is a scam, this believes to be just an honest mistake. Let's not put ourselves back in crisis.

Offer still stands. Just because CaptainWill and Voyager seem like good guys.

Just to make it clear, no one is a bully. If you attack a nation in an alliance in CyberNations you get demands for full reparations. If you do not pay you get attacked by the whole alliance. You should work like that too, it is a way to work in CN world.

However, be very careful who you cross paths with. There are alliances incredibly stronger than yours. Maybe 100 times or so (NPO, 1000 members, 4M strength)

I consider that a fairly reckless plan - seeing as The Young World is the leader of 'The YoungWorld' alliance. It's smaller than ours but is pretty powerful. Besides - surely this is something to put behind us rather than an issue to dwell on. Wars don't make you more powerful, they slow down your economic development. If Fela wants to take up the issue with Corinthe then that's fine, but I don't think we should sanction war against him/her.

As for the reparations - if your offer still stands then we accept it. Fela should pay his part when he next collects taxes, and then we can move on.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Saber on 2006-12-13 at 23:49:42
OK. It seems that Felagund already agreed to paying reparations and Aphrodite has asked me to take back our offer. That is why we remove the offer.

However, we do think Will and Voyager were nice, and we salute them. Who knows, we may even have a small aid package for you. But about that tomorrow.

As for the council re-election issue - the only way to do that currently (if we're running by the draft constitution) is to call a vote of no-confidence in the Council. If you want to do that then you can make a poll on the alliance forums.

The constitution is here, by the way. I recommend you all vote on it so we can decide whether to make it official.
