Staredit Network -> Serious Discussion -> are undead real?

Spirits, realms? This is starting to sound more a religious arguement, just a wee bit more concrete.

QUOTE
How is that calling you a coward? You are not percieving what he is talking about. He is saying that if you try the Ouiji board, that there is a possibility that you will be able to sense something else in the room

And there's also the possibility that when you say someone is scared of something, they could be labelled as a coward. If you say I'm wrong, you contradict your logic on the way odds and chances work.

No. It's "Mysticism" (Which is real)

How is what he is saying ridiculous? Cause he has a point? He has something that can prove you guys wrong and you call gim ridiculous? Seems to me you're the one being ridiculous for not opening your mind to ideas that could be true.

Where's his point? He has none. He's just telling me to draw some crap on a piece of paper and it will automatically be invoked with "evil energies and vibes". THAT is EXTREMELY ridiculous. I'll do it, I'll censored.gif ing record it for you, it'll be the most embarassing moment of my life. Also, it is NOT proof. Proof contains facts, which have failed to be provided. Opening my mind to ideas that are unlikely, but have the slim possibility of being true is not my thing.

Definition to "Mysticism":

1. *. Immediate consciousness of the transcendent or ultimate reality or God.
*. The experience of such communion as described by mystics.

2. A belief in the existence of realities beyond perceptual or intellectual apprehension that
are central to being and directly accessible by subjective experience.

3. Vague, groundless speculation.

Ya, just one flaw. No
one has ever proved that god does or does not exist.

He said if you couldn't go out and FIND a Ouija BOARD in a BOARD GAMES SECTION of a store. Read his posts more.

Proof contains facts hu? Exactly. SOOOO Why THE *UCK are you guys saying we are wrong? Cause there is no proof? There is no proof to your arguments, so therefor they are fallacies, also.

ADDITION:

That is exactly what we are talking about.

Ah, the common a symmetric turn the tables against burden of proof technique. Ya, we gots ourselfs the masters of logic on table 1, let's go order them a few girl scout cookies for being such great tactictians.

I can't prove a claim is wrong, before it's even proven right in the 1st place.

Oh, we're talking about beliefs, not if they DO or DO NOT exist? Why damn, I mind as well leave the thread, cause this is gonna go no where.

Exactly. I don't know of any board games store in this city.

We're saying you're wrong because it's more unlikely than likely.

EDIT: Sorry, Zellers and Wal-Mart also don't sell those boards.

How is it more unlikely then likely? Cause you don't believe that it is likely? I agree wtih Alpha on this. But if the skeptics weren't so close minded and opened it up, they would realize that they have a point.

And you could go to motha*ucking Wal-Mart to get it >.<

You make it seem like I never played it. I played it before. 1st time I did I was like, holy shit ghosts exist!!! AHHHHHHHHH!!!!

A few years later after I stopped believing in the easter bunny, I played it again. Nothing really happened.

Because things always don't happen every damn time.

That's like me saying that since I can land a Varial Flip one time, that i'm going to land it the very next time. Won't happen. Not untill I turn pro.

I cannot explain that. BUT, during the Ouija board process, I think you have to chant certain things or something (I dunno, never have played it)

But I CAN tell you WHY I think it does.

Cause of the *ucking PENTAGRAM on it!

So then drawing it on a piece of paper would be more efficient. I am not going to waste my money on some junk.

Drawing a Pentagram will do anything. If you go and research the Pentagram, you will understand WTF it is and WTF it can do.

From what I read:

The people who are making a claim are the people who think they can summon spirits my saying words and/or putting an object on another object. Thus, the burden of proof goes on them! (I'm evil)

But I CAN tell you WHY I think it does.

Cause of the *ucking PENTAGRAM on it!

That explained nothing.

Assuming you made a mistake in the first sentence, you're saying the object must be made by some random company instead of our own material? Intersting... didn't know they had such powers.

Please, always remember to follow step #14.

QUOTE(Step 14)
14.  Don't believe everything the board tells you. Just as with any other source of information, don't accept whatever the board says to be the truth or accurate.

You got it from the Skeptics Dictionary

You can't use them as a creditable source because they are out there to debunk everything they don't believe.
