Not only was a bug fixed involving zerg buildings.
but there was a bug fixed related to minimap unit ordering during replays, as according to John DS

This is getting out of hand...

We're just about settled.

Btw, damn I could mine minerals with 1 probe faster in a normal melee game than I could getting minerals here.

You shouldn't be posting just for minerals, btw.

Ya I can read the first post in this topic and the topic at battle.net too.

I don't believe hackers have messed up SC to the poitn where there's no use playing it. Especially with these cool patches Blizzard keeps creating biggrin.gif

Okay then, I guess we're settled. To sum it all up for people who ignored the first few pages of this topic:

Okay, for those too lazy to read all the points of IT use, here it is in a nice concise summary. Infested Terrans are worth using, if you have the time and the effort to use them. If you do use them, they are useful. Few people are going to have the notion of using pure ITs to win, but it is possible. They are mostly used to insult the enemy. We can't make them anymore. Case closed. We need a new patch for it. Okay, then, someone tell Blizzard.

Hackers have been hacking SC since about maybe (correct me if I'm wrong) a year after it came out, 6 years ago, but StarCraft is still alive (and might I add: full of the average 10 year old newb that still needs to go through puberty). I bet there was someone thinking of shutting down known hacking sites 5 years ago.

Now that isn't even remotely related the patch, but I'm sure MrrLL will have no problem with that closedeyes.gif

Hacks are still a pain in the ass, and are a constant threat to the game. If Blizzard hadn't patched things like Mutamorph then SC would go down really fast I think. People have gotten used to the regular hacks you see all the time like spoof and text hacks and things like maphacks.

The real problem are the new hacks that exploit the game and like crash and drop hacks.

Of course there was. It just seems logical to go after the hacking sites that are distributing the widely used hacks around.

According to DT on disney.com (public probably not private)
There are currently no hacks for this patch available,
so if you want to play legit games of melee, now is the time.

Well I've been to a few hack sites to see what might make a meele game unfair. And they stopped hosting them and thats when I heard of staredit and found that out.

No, infested terrans are NOT mostly used to insult the enemy. A good way to insult the enemy is to pack a light attack through the front door while dropping a number of units through the side or back, pointing out that that drop point is unprotected; or just by simply insulting them with words.

Btw, football sucks, and so does Tango biggrin.gif
Ps. No I'm not just making replies just for the crap digital minerals; I could have been pwning some newbs in WarCraft III for the past hour but I read this post and just had to prove you wrong.

Minerals are based on how much you post. Text size and quality. So for every line you type that is one mineral or something close. Unless you actually take a side in an argument, and you defend it validly, you're not bound to get alot of minerals fast.

This is not an insult to anyone. It is the truth. It is in no way meant to offend anyone.

SC came out in 1997. BW came out in 1998. Major hacking has been around since late '98.

To each his own.

As for hacking in other games, Diablo II provides a hacker's realm (open characters), and a protected series of realms (ladder, realm non-ladder). this gives everyone a bit of everything. Although unlike in SC, maphack in Diablo II is good for everyone. And Warcraft III, few people are going to go through all the struff they have to go though in WCIII to make a hack for it, which is more easily counted by Blizzard, than SC.

Well there may be truth to that. Infested terrans can be useful in strategy if you get them, but they can also be used to insult the enemy by capturing their command center. The problem is in a close game the Zerg isn't going to focus on capturing a command center. He will be focused on his micro/macro with all of his other units.

I don't know why I made my name xszerg but protoss is my best. Maybe if I thought of the use of Infested Terrans I would of been a better with zerg.

That's your opinion that football sucks. Not fact. To me, football is god. Get over it, end of discussion. And the easiest way to insult someone is to play a UMS game, and when you lose your hero Marine named Vsain that does 1760 damage with stim paks, drop them in UMS. Ahh, drophack in UMS. The world's greatest farce. So newb when you drophack someone because they are better than you. Very funny.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by SuperToast on 2005-08-22 at 23:15:19
Maybe the whole infested terran thing is a ploy by blizzard to kill UMS map making.

It has to be that! What else could it be?!
Report, edit, etc...Posted by xszerg on 2005-08-22 at 23:17:33
Well we can't make them right. We can still get them in UMS right.

Patch 1.13c

- Fixed a bug involving zerg buildings. (This part was relating to patching the hack which allowed a player to morph a drone from his or her Creep Colony. It was like getting free drones.)
- Fixed a bug related to minimap unit ordering during replays. (No idea on what this does)

Some people are saying the other triggers are now patched too.

UPDATE:

This patch also disables the building of Infested Terrans.

So, there is a sure chance of Patch 1.13d coming soon.

Period.

Report, edit, etc...Posted by Deathknight on 2005-08-22 at 23:32:29
The true patch fixes include:

- Fixed an exploit involving the "Create Unit" command and Zerg buildings that have the ability to morph.
- Fixed a bug related to the minimap draw system for unit ordering during replays.
- Patched other potential security issues involving maps being able to run malicious code.

Bugs caused:
- The Infested Terran can no longer be created at an Infested Command Center due do the "Create Unit" command being restricted from this Zerg structure.
