I just I'd drop by and pop some info.

Firstly, the Hunter is going pretty swell, expect it done in around 20 days maximum.

@Broodkiller
The distinctive parts are the long spider-like legs. While this may leave it similar to the lurker, the lurker no longer exists in this mod. Though I agree it wouldn't hurt to make it more complex, I want to get it done faster, and it's tricky enough to make the damn thing walk with these legs LOL.

@LaserDude
When you say "I'm no Ermac or Subfocus" and that you're sorta a .GRP newbie, I'm actually 'sorta' a newbie too. The only .GRP work I've ever done before anything in this thread was... Copy and pasting the goliath turret on top of a Hydralisk for each and every frame. And it turned out crappy.

@Ermac No, don't stop cry.gif !

@DoA I know purple equals player color... But wouldn't it sound weird to say "I think it has a bit too much player color"? tongue.gif

@DoA again
I'll recolor the medic since recolor jobs are easy.

kookster, do you think you can get a bit of blue recoloring in them too?

Here's a quick attempt at recoloring the Medic.

Introducing the Poision medic happy.gif

I was thinking of making it the blood Medic, but green was nicer on the eyes I guess.

Ill do my best, ive never been one at changing colors, cause palettes hate me.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by SubFocus on 2006-11-17 at 00:25:52
Uh oh... I haven't taken palettes into consideration at all... What if my GRP has colors that aren't in the pallette?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Lord_Agamemnon(MM) on 2006-11-17 at 09:13:47
It'll get messed up and not display correctly, maybe crashing the game.

Ah. Well I know how to use palletes... I just need someone to send me the SC Unit pallete... Because the one that comes with Retro GRP won't let me open it crazy.gif .

I'd suggest putting all of your grps in a mod to know which ones work/don't. Some of the ones you just took from other grps might be fine.

Yeah... I'll test 'em all and if I see anything that doesn't look right, I'll put it through the SC pallete and re-compile them.

how we use pallettes?

ADDITION:
I've got a 'slider' transport ready. Or... Do you want some walk animations?

ADDITION:
Is there a better program than retroGRP? I keep screwing up a single BMP, then having to re-open every single one.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Kookster on 2006-11-18 at 00:50:14
you can also use paint shop pro to redirect colors to the nearest colors on the palette. So that prevents any wrong colors from being used. BUT DO NOT DO THIS FOR WIREFRAMES!!!!!!
Report, edit, etc...Posted by DiscipleOfAdun on 2006-11-18 at 10:42:16
Either or. If you don't want to add any more frames, It'll be fine as is.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Laser_Dude on 2006-11-18 at 15:12:58
I was just kidding. I've figured out an easy way to make the walk frames, so no worries.

I don't have paint shop pro, just paint. Any way to use pallettes in that?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Lord_Agamemnon(MM) on 2006-11-18 at 15:28:03
No, unfortunately, because, to quote SubFocus:

Paint is primitive as all hell.

GIMP can use palettes, but it messes up the indexes. The only things that use palettes correctly all seem to cost money sad.gif

You can get Paint shop pro on......COUGH COUGH LIMEWIRE COUGH COUGH COUGH...[/Illegalness]

I hope someone finds the humor in this.

I guess I could put the stuff through the palettes for someone in need. Keep in mind I'm a pretty busy dude lately, making all these .GRP's for people and my own little project along the side.

Lol... I'm working on a groud unit... That walks... Burrows... Unburrows... And has it's own custom dying graphics. Oh and I have to recolor each frame... Then I have to put it through the SC pallete. Aside from that I'm working on a recoloring job for Agamemnon's upcoming mod. Finishing a few frames of a simple air unit for Agamemnon's mod... And perhaps recoloring the medic for this mod... I already finished one easy unit for Agamemnon...

And by the looks of things, I'll be doing alot more work for Lord Agamemnon. Not that I mind biggrin.gif

Are you certain? I seem to remember someone once saying that in a topic somewhere, but IIRC it was just that person not understanding completely how the program worked. GIMP and similar open source products very rarely fail, so it seems unlikely that it would this time smile.gif

BTW... Limewire? Is anyone still using that instead of The Pirate Bay?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Laser_Dude on 2006-11-18 at 19:44:58
ok, SubFocus. I don't need pallettes at the moment, since I'm just blending units together, but when I start with custom units/recoloring I'll get a hand.

Actually, I've heard that you can get a paint file with all the colors in the pallette right there, in a BMP, I could use Copy From to do it, I'd just need the file.
