If you are a type of enjoying just pure fun. I'd suggest Wii.
If you like competitive online gaming with some amount of frustration but if you really like the feeling of being triumphant over another... get Xbox 360.

Wait, I can only get ONE console... I'm making a decision between the 360 or the Wii... WHICH ONE?!

I'd suggest playing both at a friends\store. Also I'd definently point to a Wii if you wont be getting Xbox Live.
The 360 does have a bigger library right now though.
If you get a 360 you need Gears of War. If you get a Wii get Zelda: TP.
Yeah I'm getting Wii, but i haven't really m ade up my mind...
Anybody recommend the PS3? i know it's a lot of money, but I LOVE fighitng games...
Xbox 360 has alot more fighting games out then PS3. Just use your computer otherwise.
( Right now, getting a PS3 is almost wasting your money. It's games are expensive, and really... really... it won't make a huge difference in graphics in your eyes with Xbox 360 and PS3. PS3 is just huge price.
No, I meant fighting games like Tekken or Virtua Fighter...
I dont like Dead or Alive that much...
Well then look into getting a Ps3 when it has the games you actually want. It would be pointless to buy one right now when the games you want aren't out yet and when they do come out the console will be cheaper.
I dunno if anyone has said this before.... (I dont read other pages)
But in Canada out of all the Ps3 there, only 20% of them were bought....
one guy hated them so much that he bought one just to smash it in front of everyone faces...
the hatred of Ps3
Wii all the way!! wow. lol... actually, right now... thats a profit for Sony. Buying a PS3 is loss for sony. Sony really failed this time.
Actually, not buying a PS3 costs sony. They still pay the 850 to make the console. If nobody buys them, they lose $850. If somebody does buy them, then the loss drops down to $250. That's not entirely true since the retailer buys the PS3's beforehand, but that's the basic principle.
Well I'm still getting the Wii, cuz I also like Action/Adventure, as long as there aren't parts to get totally stuck cuz it's super hard...
Wii is gonna totally rock. But don't break your TVs and windows with that remote.

Dude, buy a dozen PS3's and sell them on eBay to the crazy rich punks who are snatching them up for 2k. I read a statistic somewhere that a PS3 is sold on ebay every six minutes or seconds.

My reply can be summed up in one picture.
Ki attacks with gesture control? Hell yes. I'm going to need to clear the couch out of my basement for this bad boy.
I want to see footage of someone actually playing that.

The back of the box has pictures, and I believe IGN has videos.
Meh PS2 version is a LOT better cuz fighthing games should be about fast finger movement skills, not ur activeness...

Being able to move your fingers fast isn't active?

I disagree completely. In fact thats why I like the Wii, you can be incredibly active with it. I love working up a sweat.

Of coures it's active. Almost as active as playing a full game of Soccer.
I have a feeling gameplay would be a bit slower, as it takes more time to do stuff like wave your controller around than click a few buttons.
Actually, I would think that the gameplay would be faster, because you can actually swing a controller quite fast if you want to, and a skilled player would in fact be able to pull off more complex combination moves.
A few months after I get mine I'll put up a video of me and one of my friends playing, you'll be amazed at how fast we move.
Thing of all the movement you have to do though, the amount of movement you are doing when you are clicking the buttons is minimal.. just your fingers

You don't have to wave it around..... Wii responds incredibly well to just using your wrist.
Also the Wiimote can now be used on your pc. Theres now drivers for the wiimote for Mac, Linux, and Windows created by an open source team(s) and you can then emulate keyboard/mouse via the wiimote. On youtube theres a guy playing HL2 and NFS with the wiimote on his PC.
Really neat stuff.
Wasn't really the point, moving your wrists back and forth is still more work/takes longer to do than press a button.

The wii has buttons to ya know. By the time it takes to move your thumb to a new button you should be able to move your wrist slightly.
Anyway who cares if it takes more work? Personally I love being all sweaty and worn out after a game of soccer. It feels good. The Wii gets you closer to that feeling and some games like Boxing can really make you sweat compared to clicking a few buttons.
Plus so many people are overweight. I can now tell someone to go play a video game to be more active. It's great
