That's the most generic statement I've heard all week lol.
Rush doesn't have any
real story to it. It's just core action, and little else. The story was to be made for A&O, so this is only just to show a taste of what was going to go in it.
BTW, I am still planning to make A&O, and I think I know how! I think the style will be similar to
this game, though definitely not as simplistic.
Cool, then even better! I love games with just pure action.
And besides, games with big ass stories dont quite appeal to me. Usually those games are only fun like the first time, since you dont know what the story is about. Once you know what it is, then the only reason u'd play it over and over again is for it's game play replayability. But most games which only focus upon the story and nothing else usually lack
replayability factors...
Update: Ok I've been busy with assorted tasks the last 2 weeks, so I'm ashamed to admit all I've accomplished for Rush is to finish the Chasm terrain, but now that I have a window I'm going full steam again and I'll try to get the first half complete.
Anyway, I'd like to announce a new map I'm going to do shortly: Omega Defense. The outline I made for it makes it a fairly simple map to make, otherwise I wouldn't bother, but it offers some interesting gameplay elements I'm eager to try out. I'll probably start on it after I finish the Chasms, practice tutorials, bombing missions, and the password systems in Rush (I could even release pt. 1 of Rush by then, if you guys still want).
So yeah, that's basically it. Over and out.

You know I could just simply rename Rush! back to A&O, if everyone would be happy with it. But the thing is, I actually developed a distinct story and setting for A&O that I spent a lot of time polishing, so I want to make a product fitting of that when I get around to doing it. Obviously, Starcraft with its limits isn't suitable to meet that level of quality.
And yeah, I'm about done with pt. 1 of Rush. I could release it any time, pending some more debugging work.

That 12 days of christmas song was made by blizzard. They even had a map just about it. I heard that the map itself sucked...
Are you sure your done with beta testing? Trigger happy D and stuff still had some pretty big bugs.
I think you sohld have a open beta where just SEN people play it before it's releaced. You should play it on map night and such.

There's this one program some peo[ple used to use the sc character voices and make them say stuff. It's used in DrunkenWrestlers "Kerrigan has sex with Duke" map and Tux's "Unit Conversation" map.
Well ok I've just cancelled Victory Fleet. I got all the bugs weeded out except a mysterious crash, which I think is due to some f*ckage that Starforge must have inflicted along the way that I can't seem to track down (or at least don't have the patience to). I even got a crash message 'Can't attack hover unit' or something like that... anyone ever seen that before?
Besides, according to various sources the idea wasn't an original one, and frankly I don't consider this an especially significant map. Not significant enough to take up any more of my time doing Rush, at least.
Oh, and I have a goodie coming up for ya'll shortly.
aww that sux Tux. I would hope you start something else to take its place. I'm sure it was original in its own way or you wouldn't be making it.
