While testing some stuff for my own weird plans, I found out that the "walkable" obstructions are set by Unit Dimensions. So yeah "Building Size" is good. But be careful so that people don't misunderstand this and assume it means refers to the term building (as in structure) while in fact it should mean "Building" (as in constructing - the verb). This is because it applies to the building creation routine, yes, but buildings are units too, and they're not the only thing to be built wink.gif

Contruction Size then?

Honestly ? Looks very sexy <3
I was curious, if you could input a dummy value of smth like 0.0001 or smth to make up for 1/15th. It's not supposed to be accurate just to show "it's 0 but not quite", unless you think it creates more confusion.

You could not - the box accepts only integer values. The v1.5 has this catered for smile.gif

ADDITION:
By the way - version 1.5 is 99% done. Just so you know.

an insane idea for 1.5 or 1.6 or whatever.
a sort by button, so that if you select any field such as animation height, unknown1, etc, it sorts the list according to the value of this property

that would be sweet, except it has seemed that BK hasnt liked changing how things are sorted much. I believe he said it had to do with how datedit read the data, or something along those lines.

This is absolutely doable, but it would severely distort the program's functionality, I think. For testing, sure, but not for modding. Maybe I would put it into DAT-to-DAT, when I finally start working on it? wink.gif

Don't know if this has been reported already, can't remember, but where is unit 130? In my units.dat, version 1.4, sorting the units list by ID, unit 130 is missing :p

There's 129 (Khalis Crystal), and 131 (Zerg Hatchery), but 130 (Infested Command Center IIRC) just isn't there :p

I already told him this some months ago. Apparently it is caused by the "use custom" option. There is a weird problem in the parsing of the stat_txt.tbl or smth like that...

I'm too lazy to search for my post and his reply but from what I remember, it's a parsing error.

Nomad is right, as usual. To be honest, I didn't investigate this problem yet. Maybe I should look into it tho...

It's of course not my decision, but I wouldn't release 1.5 with a known bug of that magnitude :p

BTW, the new way of displaying the time costs would apply for all dats, not just units.dat, yes?

Ojan>Read the log of our v1.5 discussion wink.gif. But no, it will also work for Tech and Upgrade editors. Didn't do it for weapon Cooldown, because I think it's much better the way it is done now, and there is no need for 1-second jumps there, even less as this property is game-speed-dependent.

Got another bug for you. DatEdit 1.4 doesn't save Target Acquisition Range correctly. It won't write over the files when I try saving, and it also won't hold a custom value. I chaged the Reaver's value and then did something else; when I clicked the Reaver again, its Target Acquisition Range had gone back to the default!

Thanks, LA, fixed for v1.5 smile.gif

#####NEWS#####

Hello everyone.
I said that Datedit v1.5 was almost done, almost ready. And at that time it was, but since then many things have hapenned. To cut the story short, the 1.5 update became bigger than I expected, and I dug up into some coding problems. Having said that, I want to tell you that v1.5 is being delayed, probably very seriously.

Same with GRPEdit. Things with it became a bit more complicated than I first thought, and I ask anyone who applied for its testing to forgive me, but I don't have anything stable and useful to test. And I can't really tell when will I possibly have.

I wish however that these be the only problems I am touched by. Although nothing bad has actually happened, I feel that my active involvement in the SC Community has reached its end. Although before I felt otherwise, I realized that I am no longer a teenager who can devote his time and efforts to a video game. I want my life priorities to be set properly and this, unfortunately, requires me to give up on SC modding. Heh...I'm 22, I've yet got a life before me to conquer.

I need a break, and a serious one. Sometime I plan to finally complete and release Datedit v1.5 and GRPEdit, but I have no clue myself when could that be. It will just happen when it will. I wish to thank everyone in all places I've been to, it was a great pleasure to get to know you, talk to you, and learn from you. The SC Community adventure was THE adventure of my teenage years, and that's how I want to remember it. I wish you all the best in continuing this awesome experience, that I had the honor to be a part of, and have fun with you.

I won't vanish completely, I will still answer mails and chat on IM, but other than this, it's practically curtains for me.

Thanks again for everything and goodbye.
