Syphon, can you please edit your post when you turn it off. Just so people don't go there trying to join useless

Dont know why you people say that Q1 lags cause mine goes real fast. Even when i play wit my bro over ipx
P.s. i think adding Jazz Jackrabbit would be a good idea! I have JJ2 on my comp and its sooo cool
Well DEAD gave me the files and showed me how and I have opened a Quake 1 Server!
Euro's server
IP: 192.168.1.47
Status: ONLINE
AIM: TehMarzVolta
i did the following: write down the listed IP address, Run Quake1.exe, go to multiplayer>Join a Game>TCP/IP>and type in the listed IP
after that their is a shat load of writing that appers on the side of the screen and it doesent disapper. Also the Quake1.exe file ingame looks dark. Even when i turned all the settings on my comp to bright bright bright it did not change.
Ok, do I have to leave "WinQuake" on all the time? or is there a way for me to not be in game, but host it? Anyway to move it to taskbar?
Use the shortcut to the dedicated server
And from looking at ur IP i can tell you are also using a router. You need to port forward (26000) and figure out ur external IP.
You need to go into your router settings, from there itll be different depending on your router. You can google port forwarding and u can get tutorials for your router.
Actually... no i'm not use a router. I tried to, but my DSL modem wouldn't allow it.
Weird anyway, I couldn't connect to your server.
I just shut it down for like an hour real fast, but its back up. try again.
btw I dunno what the server name has to do with it... lol
I added my AIM to the server info for anyone that wants to play.
Quick question: are you guys using quakeworld or quake 1 for the server things? If it doesent matter then tell me
I really hope that QW. QW > Q1
are we allowed to recommend other games for SCS?
i'd play duke nukem 3d...
i wouldnt mind hosting but im 56k, so i really cant be online too much and it wouldnt run good, etc...and good luck with me even DOWNLOADING like the 30-someting meg stuff. maybe i can get em at my friends house sometime and then bring em back to my house on a USB flashdrive...eh? EH?! genius
i hope i can get this workin and have less trouble than you guys..i miss those games, and the lan parties of like 99'

...the good ol' days . and QW looks hot, but i've only played Q1
i hope i'll be on there soon!

If you would have followed my instructions you wouldn't ask. You have to run the shortcut. It runs dedicated server(a console-like window) It doesn't run the game itself, if you want to join then you run Quake1.exe and join your server....
