ok, so for the thousandth time... you can make the tileset index fullsized. You always could. just resize the window
and you mean a recently used tile list? why not ctrl click the tile on the map to select it again, then you dont even need to move the mouse as far...
As for strings, as I said earlier there is internal support for a second STR section in the map with nonessential strings, just not fully coded. If you are still working on your editor and want to know how it works by me / is planned, catch me on ICQ or aim or something. same for clipboard format / brush format / etc

Thanks for the offer, maybe I'll come back to it someday. But for now there is no need to. A second STR section isn't enough for what I am working on.

I could use some of that, but I don't chat (I don't have chatting accounts + my only chat experience is finishing a lab report with a friend last year). So perhaps I could give you my e-mail or something.

its another very small sugestion but if there becomes yet another version you could attempt to blend it with windows xp. like curved edged windows and easy pop up menus when cursor is moved over.

If you didn't do anything with your XP settings (not that I would know a way to...), everything should be XP-style. If you think that the map description window and the likes are not - those are tool box style, in a normal XP style and fit perfectly.
If you mean a design like the new IE has it: DON'T!!!
Btw, Vista will be forced upon us anyways... so why try to blend it with XP? Oh how I hate Vista...

Check Vista compatibility, if SC does work on Vista. Or better: get a fool who bought Vista before at least 30 critical updates came out to check it for you, don't waste your money on it.

speaking of vista, I'll see if I can get a virtualPC enabled copy off of MSDNAA.
One of the next releases will have to split scmdraft into a win95/98 version and a 2000/xp/etc version in order for it to support unicode. (IE korean, russian, filenames)

Vista's runs just about all PC games. Including Starcraft.
The only applications that have problems with Vista are ones that rely on Xp specific kernal functions(that are gone in Vista) and some Java/Flash/Shockwave games. Basically anti-virus programs, probably virtual-drive software, and some java/flash/shockwave games.
