Hey Tux, I wanna try out the first part you finished on your map.
'fraid I'm not showing it to anyone until its done. I've already spoiled the few that've seen it already too much, now I need to keep some stuff a surprise for the final release
.
Still haven't decided if I'm gonna do it all in one release or divide it into two parts...
Release it all in one. I personally think it's better that way.
I already spoiled my map... they weren't testers who signed up.
(Except Deathknight)
Trigger Happy Defense was like the BEST GAME EVER!
ur games are so cool!
Yea that was an awsome Defence. I really liked it. You sure got a possitive Review on it and a lot of people play it. I tihnk i'm going to go play it
.
Thanks.
Update:Well I think I've settled on the idea of releasing Rush in two parts, instead of butchering it to fit all in one map. It seems fitting, since the players will have reached their full weapon purchases by where part 1 ends anyway, and since I've gone too far in the trigger development to really be able to add new weapons to allow further purchasing, I think it works out fine on that end to simply wrap it up thus far and finish the second half of it in a seperate map.
Part 2 will feature a lot more vehicles, puzzles, locations (some really cool ones planned), music, new weapons, bosses, and a new gameplay element near the end that might put a twist on things just as you start to get used to them.
I'm also thinking of releasing the stand-alone gunner and vehicle engine for anyone who wants to use it for their own maps. Hell, I might go as far as making a mod for it so it can be a *true* gunner system, instead of the clumsy defiler/corsair system that is in place now. But that's of course after I have everything else completed, first.
I know what the near game-play elemant twist at the end is
;
I also finnaly found a good use of your mobile grid fill.
lol, no you don't. I haven't even written it down anywhere yet. It will certainly make things interesting, though.
Oh, one thing: I'm gonna be gone for about a week to do some stuff with my family, so consider Rush on hold until then. I'll have some new stuff coming up shortly after then, including even... well, you'll see it when I make it.
No, i think you spilled it when you did one of your think aloud thoughts when in the middle of a discussion about me showing you my maps that make you craige or something. or can i just say it if you rally think i'm wrong?
U really want me to start mapmaking again lol Tux. =)
Ok I'm back from my... (looks at calendar) 3 day vacation in Oregon. Saw War of the Worlds and did some stuff on the beach with my family.
Now that that's done, I'll be doing some more work on Rush soon. Of course, I'd rather not say I'm doing work when I can show it to you instead... but you'll see what I have in mind soon enough.
I'll even get a website and some extra material up soon, so stay tuned.
You should of made Oregon Trail.
No I cancelled that. Even if I had the patience to debug what went wrong with the main portion of it, I decided it wouldn't really make a good map in its implementation in Starcraft... accurate as it may have been. Just let it go.
Rush is where it's at, yo!
Wow, that's like the infinity time a person has comment including myself about Oregon trail. Seems like people really want it tux, i dunno
! Maybe it would be liked ;p
You could make it if you want. Hell I'll even post the map where I left off if ya'll are so desperate.
Knock yerself out!
Hey tux, would you mind helping me with my Starship Troopers map? I've been having serious issues....
'fraid not. Try posting in the Assistance forums for help instead.
Tux, that Oregon Trail.Txt attached file, is that what you do with every map, and whats with the (1/32) like on the creatures?
More or less. I always carefully keep track of all death counters, switches, locations, and units if possible. Though sometimes I get lazy and only keep track of counters and switches.
The 1/32 thing is the probability of that particular creature spawning in the hunting area. If the triggers were working for day to day progression, then players would be allowed to go hunting, and you'd see all that in action.
What happens when you suddenly "Freeze" while going on the rough trail?
Wow, that's incredible. It could take me days to pick up were you left off or to just under stand the triggers fully.
The freeze is a bug. I haven't the patience to try and fix it.
You respond to fast
;; We are supposd to be playing this Empty LAN right?
EDIT:
And oh yeah, i automatically got picked a unit when i selected option 4....
So mind telling me all the known bugs? maybe having another person look at it could spot it.
For me, everything seemed to work up until traveling.
