About 90% (or something up there with that) of the time, it will crash if you attack with an un-attacking powerup. The remaining percent it won't crash. But would you want to have a game where 90% of the time it will crash? Ifso, thats just messed up.

There is no percentage. It either DOES crash, or it doesn't. The same unit will crash EVERY time, not just "some of the time".

QUOTE
Also, you should find a way to test where you somehow pick up the stuff like Stasis Feild. Then you probably would get more. *Most likely not possable* also thoes units are probably the rest of the speed-altering units.

Don't know what you're talking about, but you can only pick up units. EVERY unit can be found in Starforge or SCMDraft. A stasis field is not a unit.

QUOTE
only problem with this is......if people start using it in there maps and it happens to go public then it will be even more noticable and eventually blizzard will make a n00b patch to fix it thus making the maps obsolite and getting rid of all our fun!

Look, it can only be done in UMS and in modified melee(where the powerup is a player 12 sprite-units). The powerup must also have HP or must be preplaced as hallucinated. I'm sure Blizzard won't patch this because it doesn't revolve around melee, it doesn't even revolve around Blizzard's UMS, it revolves around our modified UMS and can normally NOT be done in most UMS games.

Wrong. When my friend showed it to me he attacked while the probe had a civilian. It didn't crash, jsut made rock sprite. Then later I tried and it did crash. Also I attacked with a tank base and it became a giant orange square. Then my friend did it again, it crashed. all of these examples I did or witnessed.

ADDITION:
Also it was the same map each time (the one that was in this topic)

Rock sprites mean it's suppose to crash. Depending how long you were attacking for, then it would crash. According to IScript.bin, it crashes 100%.

He left it there because it wasn't crashing. Then after about 5 minutes he had to go.

One thing that sucks about this glitch is that you can't upgrade the dmg its doing, like if you upgraded attack, the attack wont go up. sad.gif

EDIT: Can anyone use this in their maps? Or do you just want to keep this to yourself so it doesn't get widely used?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by scwizard on 2005-05-06 at 20:28:48
It's possible to Upgrade SCVs. You use one of the unknowns. Make it so computer players have upgradred SCVs. Then you mind control.
If only you could MC turrets, it would revolutionize turret D.

ADDITION:
It might work for psi stroms though
*m.r.bob gets ideas

Its been said before "Unused 60" upgrades turrets/cannons/sunkens/spores, psi storm, nukes, scv/probe/drone, and all the stuff that normally can't be upgraded..

I don't believe MCing the units pass on the upgrades, just the technologies.

What happens with a scarab, or interceptor?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Deathknight on 2005-05-07 at 08:23:28
Interceptor damage is upgraded with all other Protoss air weapons. Scarab damage is upgraded as a technology and can be passed on by mind controlling a reaver.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by O)FaRTy1billion on 2005-05-07 at 11:27:52
Also scarab damage can go to 255.

I'll have to test it to see what gets passed on when you MC something and what doesn't.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Deathknight on 2005-05-07 at 15:21:36
I already told you. Technologies get passed on. Upgrades don't. Look at the technologies and upgrades in Staredit or something.

If I'm wrong, do point it out.

I kno a way upgrades get passed on...

Do this:
Put an upgradey building (Evoloution chamber) that can be shared (like its a neutral players, then player 1 walks up, and it gives to player 1; etc.)
Have some people use it and upgrade before you. Then when you walk up and go to the upgrade button, its at what ever they left it at. (I did this a few patches ago, not sure if it still owrks)

no? Cause all the RPGs would be messed up liek that then...
Report, edit, etc...Posted by O)FaRTy1billion on 2005-05-07 at 19:18:25
I did it before in one of SoftWarewolfs bounds...

He's right, you can't pass on upgrades.

My UED Elites uses the same upgrade system, but everyone still has still the same upgrade levels based on their own.

I have used this in arena maps.

Also what you do is the following:
  1. Hallucinate a powerup (Create with triggers or a high templar and a mineral/gas)
  2. Pick one up with a probe, and wait for them to die
  3. When they die, you build how ever many powerups (like if there was two, create 2 or 3 units)
  4. Then kill the probe. The unit is now in that place*
  5. Take a peon and pick up the newly palced unit.
  6. Play around with it.
*I have found that you need a path from where the unit starts, to where the probe dies, unless the unit is an air unit.
