Before I even start I am proud to say that StarForge is my favorite map editor in existance. Even though it crashes literally constantly, it never fails me when creating the best maps possible. Thanks to Heimdal for creating a digital god.
Bugs I've come acrossNote: Alot of this may seem stupid, but I've needed to use it at least once.
Also, all these were found using SF+, that is probably outdated
1. Creating a 0x0 map crashes
2. Pylon range under Edit doesn't work
3. Creep range under Edit doesn't work
4. Unit range under Edit doesn't work
5. Fog of war is not shown, but does work
6. You can "Select from master" when right clicked on a unit or sprite
7. Copy and paste fail to work on the terrain layer
8. You can select "Remove unit" while on terrain layer
9. 0x0 isom has trouble staying smooth on corners
10. All help files don't work
11. Having nothing as a force name will crash
12. (Maybe it's just me, but I couldn't find music or transmissions in the MPQ files)
13. You can save a trigger without actions but with conditions. (Acts as Always()
14. You can save a trigger without conditions but with actions
15. All options that relate to moving a trigger fail to work in trigger menu
16. Can't save or delete triggers to a .trg
17. Seems to have a conflict with strings after SCMDraft2 has been used on the map
18. Maxing HP on a unit crashes
19. Maxing build time on a unit crashes
20. Maxing mineral cost of a unit crashes
21. Opening certain protected maps crashes
22. Maxing gas cost of a unit crashes
23. Maxing pretty much anything that deals with a unit or upgrade will crash (this excludes shields, armor, attack and bonus)
24. The "Map Revealers..." function doesn't reveal the entire map on certain default map sizes
25. When editing properties for mulitple units for more than 1 player, SF tends to crash
26. When editing properties for multiple sprites for more than 1, SF tends to crash
27. One of the blue color marks is actually "mimic".. not blue
My Suggestions1. Fix the bugs of course
2. Possibly a less laggy interface when dealing with hundreds of units in the window
3. Allow Tank and Goliath attack to be changed from the body, instead of finding the corresponding turret in the unused section
4. Allow units to be moved when you used an offset when you are changing the map size
5. Make array more understandable >>
6. Make accurate player colors for beyond 11 (light blue)
7. Make the "Player has no Start Location" warning be idle for at least 10 seconds after a new map is created
8. An auto-name stacker?
9. The ability to copy units and paste them (same alignment when they are copied and pasted)
10. The ability to change the tileset after a map has been created
11. An built-in ASCII toolbar near the color marks?
That's about all I can conjure up for now, I look forward to any projects you have in the future, Heimdal. Good luck with SF.
