Starforge should be able to save the last parameter in ModifyUnitResources();...

There was a fix, but everyone said it was minor. Now everyone is complaining about it...

Would there be any possable way 2 make it like when you put down a special tile it makes colors like for fading n stuff...would there be any way so it just shows the color it is on the minimap so its way easier to make fades n stuff?

You can't add tiles. I think what he wants is animated tiles or tile replacemnt triggers so he can to a "fading" effect.

  • Fix the isometric terrain(I really don't care but sometimes I really need it).
  • Trigger moving up and down(Same as above).
  • Ability to rename switches(Or is there a way? If so, tell me).
  • Fix the glitch when you resize the list on the left, you can see further than the map is.
  • Rename units on the unit/sprite list when you rename them through Unit Editor.
  • CreateUnitWithProperities don't work. Or is this how you do it?
    CODE
    CreateUnitWithProperites(<stuff>,5);
Since 5 is the number for invinicibility.
  • Animated units, like in SCMDraft/StarEdit.
  • Arsenal 3 compatiable
  • Invisible character in string editor rarely works.
  • Easier Stacking Text (I dont like memorizing the formula for stacking properly)

That is pretty much everything. wink.gif

I think you should add a classic trig editor along with allowing wav songs to be played during the game instead of going away after adding them as a trigger.

Thats true but it could run like scmdraft2. That could fix a huge problem with sound. I agree with the previous post from sniper. I think it should only do 1 backup file not .bak bak. That gets a little out of hand when you are trying to find the right backup file.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Heimdal on 2005-11-20 at 12:42:34
It makes a backup of whatever you are working on. If what you are working on happens to be something.bak.scm, then it will make something.bak.bak.scm. Don't open the backups (unless you have to) if you don't want that to happen.

Just to inform you, there probaly wont be any new updates because the SF creator has a job, and doesnt have time for updating this program. I begged him millions of times.

Hey for the doors, i think you should fix them so it shows which way they go tongue.gif
Also, on the one i have, you can't have sounds. Well you can load em in but you can't play them or even use them. Idk why it does this but it replaces the wav with terran marine and weird names.

For the grid either enable Custom Colors, or have the color that is in StarEdit in there. (I think StarEdit's grid color is 1051664 (rgb 16,12,16))

On nulls black does not work, but lighte greys are too light.

Starforge's cancel button on the unit settings dialog box.... .... .. should undo any changes made to the units... Right...?

On my computer StarForge works fine, on my Laptop however before I place Starting locations for all of the players set as active, about every ive or so seconds it asks if I want StarForge to automatically place the starting locations. I have only had this problem on my regular computer. But it is only when I try and save it, Do you think it is my laptop trying to save it every now and then?

Does anyone else have this problem?

I don't have that problem but it does ask you if you want it to turn the players neutral if no start locations are placed. Maybe it is your labtop.

I think that when you add terrain over rectangular pieces it should cover that area that it is filling completely instead of leaving a hole or two. In addition, when making water with the isometric, i think it should show the water instead of null and creep.

The newer versions have an autosave/backup and it still does all thoes checks.

Before I even start I am proud to say that StarForge is my favorite map editor in existance. Even though it crashes literally constantly, it never fails me when creating the best maps possible. Thanks to Heimdal for creating a digital god.

Bugs I've come across
Note: Alot of this may seem stupid, but I've needed to use it at least once.
Also, all these were found using SF+, that is probably outdated :)

1. Creating a 0x0 map crashes
2. Pylon range under Edit doesn't work
3. Creep range under Edit doesn't work
4. Unit range under Edit doesn't work
5. Fog of war is not shown, but does work
6. You can "Select from master" when right clicked on a unit or sprite
7. Copy and paste fail to work on the terrain layer
8. You can select "Remove unit" while on terrain layer
9. 0x0 isom has trouble staying smooth on corners
10. All help files don't work
11. Having nothing as a force name will crash
12. (Maybe it's just me, but I couldn't find music or transmissions in the MPQ files)
13. You can save a trigger without actions but with conditions. (Acts as Always();)
14. You can save a trigger without conditions but with actions
15. All options that relate to moving a trigger fail to work in trigger menu
16. Can't save or delete triggers to a .trg
17. Seems to have a conflict with strings after SCMDraft2 has been used on the map
18. Maxing HP on a unit crashes
19. Maxing build time on a unit crashes
20. Maxing mineral cost of a unit crashes
21. Opening certain protected maps crashes
22. Maxing gas cost of a unit crashes
23. Maxing pretty much anything that deals with a unit or upgrade will crash (this excludes shields, armor, attack and bonus)
24. The "Map Revealers..." function doesn't reveal the entire map on certain default map sizes
25. When editing properties for mulitple units for more than 1 player, SF tends to crash
26. When editing properties for multiple sprites for more than 1, SF tends to crash
27. One of the blue color marks is actually "mimic".. not blue

My Suggestions
1. Fix the bugs of course :D
2. Possibly a less laggy interface when dealing with hundreds of units in the window
3. Allow Tank and Goliath attack to be changed from the body, instead of finding the corresponding turret in the unused section
4. Allow units to be moved when you used an offset when you are changing the map size
5. Make array more understandable >>
6. Make accurate player colors for beyond 11 (light blue)
7. Make the "Player has no Start Location" warning be idle for at least 10 seconds after a new map is created
8. An auto-name stacker? :D
9. The ability to copy units and paste them (same alignment when they are copied and pasted)
10. The ability to change the tileset after a map has been created
11. An built-in ASCII toolbar near the color marks? :D

That's about all I can conjure up for now, I look forward to any projects you have in the future, Heimdal. Good luck with SF. ;)

Duh. Starcraft and Staredit both crash; useless find.

0 by X in Staredit works. wink.gif

ADDITION:
When trying to max, you could always try -1, but it may not work in StarCraft that well. wink.gif

Actually I found that out when I was trying to make the smallest map ever. (as few strings, units, etc as possible)
..The weird thing is that it got bigger after I compressed it.

Report, edit, etc...Posted by KABOOM on 2006-10-21 at 00:47:05
no kiding this editor can use alot of more work on it. But its up to Heimdal.
Another annoying thing is after putting sound in with xtra then opening in sf and reopenong in xtra it gives a cant save file and crap. I've learned of a way around to get the msg away but that requires me to delete all music and put it back in...
