Hey, I have Civ2. Not installed, but I have it.

And Age of Empires, too. That was a pretty good game even though it's far outdone by StarCraft.

Thats because you have config FuhQuake. Ask Lisk for support.

I suggest you run opengl.bat tongue.gif

Yea, and even if you don't. I posted "Exe - fuhquake-gl.exe" by running this you won't have any bad effects wink.gif

opengl.bat loads the cfg you would pretty much like to have. it differs from the default(ugh!) cfg yawn.gif

Does Quake 1 work on WinXP or do I need to use DOSbox for this one?

EDIT: Second question. Is this legal to download the games?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Gigins on 2006-02-07 at 11:02:40
All games on SCS list are winXP compatible and are legal to download wink.gif

doom is freedoom yawn.gif
quake is in a well-known-old package so it must be legal

I think we need to update SCS. Feel free to suggest the following things.
  • Games - any good classic game will do.
  • servers - we need more 24/7 uptime servers for games.
  • Mods/addons/packs - anything that can improve the game.
  • File hosting - To host better(larger) games I need a better file hosting.

Current file hosting service:
  • Website - http://www.savefile.com/index.php
  • Max file size - 60Mb
  • Max uploads - no limit
  • Max downloads - no limit
  • Max bandwidth use - no limit
  • Cost - none
  • Service speed - moderate

If you know any file hoster that can beat this, let me know tongue.gif

It's still too small for me to put up Command and Conquer: Red Alert and The Aftermath (Win2k or higher requires Aftermath to play properly). But if anyone has that...

How long will my file stay on your servers?
We usually store your uploaded files for a period of 10 days after their last download, or for up to 100 downloads.

I need hoster that won't delete my files wink.gif

Actually, I think the problem with SCS is that there aren't enough players. You have to organize games in the shoutbox to get one started. If we could players playing on a server at any random time, we would do much better.

I would say that project SCS is still developing so it's not that grim to have small range of players. Once we can organize good file hosting, expand to more games, get working servers for games and advertise SCS enough, we will sure get more active players.

For now AIM me if you want to play wink.gif

The current problem is to find/get a good file hoster.
Games pending for file host...
  • Quake2
  • Diablo 1

SCS system update!!

New feature - Players can now register as SCS players. This small system will help you to find players for SCS games more easy. Active AIM or MSN contact is required, but AIM is more recommended wink.gif

Send me this info through PM or AIM/MSN...
  • Your AIM or/and MSN
  • SCS games that you have/play
  • Small description of you(if you want to add something)

recommended use of this...
Create a IM contact folder and add SCS players that play your game. Then you will see how many players are online and manage a game fast. You will find the registered SCS player list in topic post under statistics...

The only problem with me is I can't play these games with a router, which means I have to direct connect, which really pisses me off, and believe me, it pisses my tennant off too. I say we play AoE or Civilization 2 smile.gif

I have a router and I don't have any troubles.

It might be because I have a dynamic IP, or I haven't/can't adjust the firewall on my router. Still, the two games I did play, I really liked, it was fun smile.gif

Oh I loved AoE biggrin.gif
Haven't heard of Lords of the Realm II though. How big are these games? I mean will I be able to host them?

I suggest everybody to move on FuhQuake, cause it has working servers wink.gif
