My opinion? Humans don't have the right to play God. Let nature take its course. People die for a reason. Having a cure for everything isn't necessarily a good thing. The Earth's carrying capacity is rapidly reaching its maximum as it is now. Soon, the world may not have enough resources to support every human being living in this Earth.

Your opinion is a fact.

Also clones wont have souls. Would u like a organ that is not urs to be in ur body?
Cloning can lead to immortality. Which will result in an endless war. If it was like the cloning in the movies(Which I hope does not happen) Families would be shattered. A clone can never have a soul. Animals dont have souls, they have instinct. But a cloned animal might have instint but a cloned human might be like that too. They wont be able to think or make a decision. We were made to die.

This is also why I am Pro-Bush. He is anti-stem cell research.

I mainly agree with DOA, but if they're going to start disallowing cell phones in schools (which they probably can't), a lot of kids are going to be really 'upset'. One solution I know is to make a small machine that detects high frequency sounds and if a sound identified as that ringtone is found it sends a message to the teacher.. but that probably won't happen because of financial problems and I can't see anyone doing anything else about it.

No phones allowed? But what if my son/daughter live 30 minutes away from home?

What souls?
QUOTE
Cloning can lead to immortality.

In case you didn't know, clones are different people who just have the same genetic properties as you, they wont end up being similar to you at all unless they have lived the same exact life as you, which is impossible. They aren't just built like robots at a full grown age, they actually grow inside of a person like a real child. They are unique human beings. It's not like they suddenly remember every part of your life and live life in your place after you die. You would basically get a clone if you had a child with your sister.

Note: This isn't just directed at Echo, A lot of you seem to think this for some reason.

-Imagine you being a clone. you have to go on living knowing you aren't real.

And which movie did you learn that from?
QUOTE
We were made to die.

That's nice.
QUOTE
POSSIBLY end world hunger, unless the cloning people are greedy.

I only have one thing to say: What the H*ll?

Are you saying we should eat clones?
QUOTE
The Earth's carrying capacity is rapidly reaching its maximum as it is now. Soon, the world may not have enough resources to support every human being living in this Earth.

And how do clones have any effect on the population? Once again, they aren't built as
adults in some laboratory, they are grown inside a human. It's the same thing as having a baby, It wouldn't change the rate in which the world is populated in any way.
QUOTE
They're messing around with God's work.

God God God, that's all I hear today. "God forbids us from prospering." "God laughs at unique ideas." "God will smite innovation." God will be the end of us at this rate.

On a side note: What is with everyone and "Mother Nature"? We are naturally cloning people because over the course of time we natural human beings naturally began to build buildings and advance technology, we naturally got together and we naturally dominated the planet. We naturally began living organized lives and naturally developed everything we have today. It all happened through the natural course of time, therefore you all have no say in what is natural, everything is natural.

IF

Fine then, what IF cloning was completely justified and god is going to come down and approve of it? You can't use IF statements to back up your argument, because that's basically like saying "What if I was right"? If you were right of course you would be right.

I agree that most kids don't need a cell phone, but some do, such as those who stay after constantly with varying schedules of needing to be picked up, or those who drive, just in case they get a flat tire. Middle schoolers do NOT need a cell phone. Period.

ADDITION:
I just tried the sound on my parents and they heard it. I question the validity of it.

This is weird. The things people think of. I brought my father in my room to let him listen to it, and he said that he didn't hear it. I myself didn't here it. I guess I got to old.

Also, I don't think this is a bad idea, if a child doesn't want to listen in class they aren't going to. A little ringtone like this isn't going to change something. It is just going to keep them out of trouble and annoy the hell out of the whole class. My dog freaks out when I play this sound though, and yet me or my father can hear it.

Finally, I like how someone thought of this. They are going to make big bucks off of this just because teenagers don't want to get in trouble. They aren't going to make a proffit over the summer break.

Princess Diana was pregnant at the time of her death in the road accident. Basically, I don't think the people should be sued. All they did was take pictures. If you get sued for taking pictures then this world is getting crazy.

How do they know that the journalist could of saved her? She could of already been dead at the moment he was taking the pictures. However, it is sick how the journalist took pictures of the corpse.

Hmm strange, my mom could hear the sound clearly. She's always claimed to have really good hearing anyways, so maybe that's why. Or maybe this is just a load of BS that is marketed to attract teens.

To me it just sounds like white noise. It freaked out my cat, though. Poor kitty.

Sorry, but I think dead topics are the ones that are closed. The ones that die out because of inactivity. unfortunatley this is not dead because it is still open. And it never hurts to throw my two cents in.

Well this topic was sleeping for a very long time, because most of everything was covered so no one posted. But to you that doesnt matter I see, because your two cents you added were both covered here!

Damn spoiled brats. I didn't get a cellphone until I was 16. Most of my classmates didn't have them either (in fact, I can't think of a single one). And the school I went to for my last 2 years of high school was very strict about no cell phones. You got patted down and had to walk through a metal detector every morning. They'd send your ass home if you brought a cell phone. Nowadays, kids can't survive without the annoying little gadgets.

I feel like an old man. =\

I got one once I was a freshman in high school. I was actually probly one of the only people with out a cell phone. You must of gone to a big/rough school if you had to walk through metal detectors. My school did that one say because someone made a bomb threat but normally we dont do that. I think texting is dumb, i only use it for a yes or no question i need to ask quick.

hahaha you make me laugh. Ok I will supply proof only if you then supply proof for your statement. That sounds fair to me!

I would agree if it was just the prisoners. But it's also Amnesty International, the U.N., half the British government, U.S. personnel and released inmates (who were proven not to be terrorists).

Anyone besides the inmates actually been to Gitmo?
None, and constantly I see on the news no solid proof.
Fox News just did an inspection of the place and watched an interigation go on. Nothing bad to report...

That's exactly what I heard. White noise with a bit of feedback.

Maybe they heard it because my speakers suck, or I had the volume cranked so that it was crackling.

IMO Using this as a ringtone is stupied, thats what vibrate is for. I mean, when you use this other students can still hear it and will most likely complain about it (Trust me I tried it yesterday lol). I even tested it on my 3 teachers, 2 cant hear it and the other eventually heard it after about 5 tries.

So yea just use vibrate, this sound is really annoying and hard on the ears anyways.

Afghans declare Gitmo conditions 'humane'
AP - Wed Jun 14, 7:34 AM ET
KABUL, Afghanistan - An Afghan delegation returning from a 10-day visit to the U.S. detention center at Guantanamo Bay said Wednesday that prison conditions there were "humane." The head of the delegation, Abdul Jabar Sabhet of the Interior Ministry, said the delegation was given the chance to speak freely with all 96 Afghan prisoners about their living conditions. Sabhet said there were "only one or two" complaints.
