I think around 60-70% of posts in this topic have nothing to do with what i was hoping this topic would be (a moderator feedback thread). It sorta makes me wonder where SEN is going with all of this flaming.

Everyone would be so much happier patting each other on the back and complimenting each other. I dont know why they choose not to.

I think that this is a great place to let some built-up steam out and, heck, maybe even fix some problems around here in the community.

Just remember, I wub.gif you all very much.

However, on that note, let's speak of the unfairness of SEN. I now see a corrupt dictatorship where Yoshi plays God, smiting his political enemies in one fell swoop while strengthening his iron-clad fist on the hearts of us all.

Just kidding, but I seriously think that warnings should go down like 5% every week.

And is there any possible way to make Chuiu a little less pro-Sony? Maybe get Kame to have a... happy signature instead of something that makes me want to slit my wrists for once? I guess those are my two cents, so I think the staff here is pretty well rounded out for the job.

I think MiniMoose is a great guy and seems to know what he's doing. He's locked his share of topics and appears to make good decisions.

Bolt_Head was very helpful, because he gave me a screenshot of my warn once which was quite useful. He also seems to make good decisions.

Entropy's posts are always enjoyable to read, but unfortunatly seem to go to waste all too often. Due to his inactivity it would appear that he has given up on SEN, but I think it was for the right reasons.

Isolated Purity, in the few posts I'd really seen him make showed that he had a lot of spine. I admire that in people.

I think Yoshi da Sniper is a good guy. He seems to do what he believes is right, and I honestly think his heart is in the right place. Disagreements with him are usually caused by a clash of cultures.

LegacyWeapon seems to be an overall good guy. I've hardly talked to him, but his posts are all intelligent.

The only thing you really get from this is that if you want to be a good staff to me, be like these people.

For the most part, I don't really like Sony. The only product they make that I like is the Playstation line. And no, you will never change my opinion on that matter.

I disagree on the "complimenting" part. Criticizing is necessary, but from what I've read ... definitely not in the manner people are presenting it right now.

Too aggressive.

UPDATE::: SORT OF:::

maybe I misunderstood, because your post doesn't say criticize is bad so .. ya.

<-- still thinks the "banned words" are too... high (right word?)

Thats true. Psycho has gone way overboard with his arguement. He has turned his suggestion/complaint into a flame war when there was no need for that to happen.

Chu and FK and pretty much everyone argueing against Psycho need to be a little more accepting of critizisim. You can ither accept what they have said and consider it for change, or disagree with them. If you disagree with it thats no reason to take what has been said personally.

I think Physco said alot of true things and because you guys were argueing against him you picked out all the small details and critizized it without looking at what he was actually saying. However I doubt there is much of a reason for Physco to have been argueing his point, he was clearly blowing it out of porportion and exagerating the events or event that offended him.

I guess i'm a little late, but thats my 2cents

I kept arguing because I wanted to know if the moderators knew why it was wrong (at least, to me); I still don't know. I don't know why n2o is making himself out to be the victim. He brought up an off topic matter to slander my credibilty, when he failed he got upset. Take that up in PM please (no seriously, if you have something to say about that, PM not here).

Oh I was paying attention to what he was saying but I still think he was over reacting. Maybe it was just the way he was posting it though, but I don't respond well to that.

I am accepting. I changed how I handled things, and I said that I apologized.

EDIT: That last comment was too hasty of me to say.

I'm just wondering, but exactly how many people feel the way Psycho does, and have had something like that done to them?

In my total of what, maybe a month on Staredit.net, I've noticed some things:
The admin/ Moderators(Mods) team here is effective, but sometimes biased in their rulings
I've seen a guy in the Moose Zone with 2-3 closed topics straight in a row. That seems lax.
No admin/mod has ever been disrespectful, athough I think they would have shut down SEN a long time ago the way I've seen peeps arguing in this topic.
Even though i've only spoken to 2-3 of the mods, it's best to respect them, because they weren't made mods for a reason. They deserve respect, but they should be open to CONSTRUCTIVE CRITISiSM.
I would say that the language censor is slightly over inflated. When I can't use a three letter word that back in the flinstone cartoons meant "happy" or "joyful" that's a LITTLE restrictive.

The bottom line (In my eyes):
People who break the rules get punished, but not always fairly. (A slight bias, nothing more)
This is a clean, good website, and whoever made it was right to have such strict rules.
The admins and mods deserve respect they've done an admirable job.

Edit by Moose: Was the smiley orgy really necessary?

Heh I can see where that comes into play smile.gif

No need to shutdown SEN, just ban/suspend/punish the members if it's severe.

I think people are forgetting that they don't own SEN, and they can't do whatever they want here smile.gif You still have to answer to a higher being. angel.gif

It's a community devilesk, if people thought the site was evil they'd go to another, or make their own. If Yoshi was a total a foolish, rude, or contemptible person and did stuff to annoy his members he wouldn't have many, if any. Stop sucking up.

I'm sorry for flaming. I just got mad because he started yelling poo.gif at me in the shoutbox and in pm. Then he was yelling at mods who are doing a great job.
so - Im sorry sweatdrop.gif sweatdrop.gif

Yea, but I'm saying that Yoshi or the mods themselves wouldn't shut the site down.

To all who have a problem with moderation actions, senv5 will have the ability to challenge those actions. Basically, it's like asking for a 2nd opinion from someone in higher status.
If you think a mod is treating you unfairly, you can challenge it and get your post/signature/topic whatever automatically restored to it's previous state. If you challenge something and it's request gets denied (like it's obviously stupid and the mod was right), then you get a slight deduction in karma/minerals/something for wasting our time in reviewing your case. In the case that you and many other challenges are successful, the mod will be removed.

Until then, simply im/pm me if you seriously, seriously think you are being mistreated. Don't waste my time with trivial poo.gif though.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Chef on 2005-07-18 at 16:40:38
That means it'll be mandatory for all mods to PM what they're warning for, right? Otherwise it's kind of hard complain.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by chuiu on 2005-07-19 at 00:07:48
Right now posting a reason in the warn log and PM'ing the person is two parts (made 1 with the form provided to us). I think this is making it a 1 part process where we only have to post the reason and mods/member can see it.
