Goddamn, Dk has to argue with everything doesn't he? That's okay, I was going to before you and SI went at it tongue.gif.
Anyways, these new features may have me actually use SCMDraft, becuase I get no run time errors - ever - from StarForge.

To me, anyway, StarForge + SCXE can do everything SCMD can, plus more.

And that brings us to "Why use SCXE?" Becuase I can, becuase I've been using it for as long as I can remember. So that means I'd be using SCMD and SCXE. But SF + SCXE > SCMD + SCXE. Basic math.

Fact and opinion, folks.

Why Rexy that was really to the point!

SI;
You said the MAC version will be released first, what Mac OS will it run under, and will it contain a version of TrigEdit?

Are there updates to TrigEdit?

Also from my last use of SCMD2 Internal have you fixed the problem of the text size being affected by the Zoom and the huge lag caused by the Zoom?

Mac version is being done for Os X, not sure which OS X release, I dont even know what the latest is, was it 3 or 4? Darkwizzard will have to say.

No updates to trigedit yet, current plan is mac scmdraft then redo trigedit for mac and PC at the same time.

Zoom works by rendering into an enlarges buffer and then resizing, so the text would stay the same size, however we are going to change the text output system.

What are your comp specs again, zoom may lag depending on ram and CPU speed, I am working on optimizing the render engine even more but there is a limit, if you zoom out far enough scmdraft has to rerender all changed parts of the entire map per frame so it can slow down.

not sure what will be the minimum osX version yet, i am doing development on 10.3.5 so everything >= that should be fine.

no I intentionaly glossed over it so the users can assume the break is you fixing all the bugs in mac scmdraft and not playing FFXI and HL2 wink.gif

Actually DK, the flipped this applies because it draws the sprite flipped in starcraft and starforge doesn't have that. It just displays the sprite it has in its files.

I believe the flip only applies to alpha and beta starcraft hence its useless for 99% of scmdraft users. I may remove its prominant position or somehow reinforce the notion that that flag has been deprecated by an iscript opcode.

*Starts palpitating at the thought of SCMDraft Mac version* Any projected release date (nothing specific, maybe just a month or something) for the Mac version, or are all us Mac users going to be kept in suspense up until the day it is released?

DW and I are finishing the recode of scmdraft 2 (basicly he is looking at my code saying it looks ugly) that the engine and GUI code is completely split. Once this is the case for the mac version he just needs to make the windows and tell em to call the unified functions, so a month, maybe less should be accurate for the first version (probably not even beta but still)

axblader;

CamSys was gone about 2/3 years ago, or at least was basically dead by then, the major progress was from 1998, to 2001, for the MODing programs, although at SAMods they've started things up again, albeit a little slowly.

Windows and MAC's share similar functions? Crazy...

I think SA is just making mods and not programs for mods, I could be wrong.
camsys made stuff like stardraft tileedit stargraft arsenal 3 etc, then when I was staff scmdraft 1...

most of the code will be identical for windows and macs, that way DW doesn't have to change anything everytime I fix bugs or add featrures but rather he can just grab the new files and recompile. Its taken a while to redesign the core to work like this but it will be worth it in the future.

YOu are allowed to double post. If it lets your double post then you are allowed to.

Anyways, the screen shots looks nice. At first when I downloaded the beta versions of it a few months back I expected all those options. Since I can't..I must wait for this to come out....sad.gif

Rare to find them with SI, though he cheats and has On Error code so that i can't see what lovely RunTime and such the program has broken.

even without it you would only get stuff like access violations....
