I would buy the DS over the PSP any day, but I would rather not buy either. I have the Tapwave Zodiac (www.tapwave.com) and it kicks both's arse! ZODIAC IS THE FUTURE! EMBRACE IT! I <3 my Palm! It is my only companion...

I would much rather get a DS than a PSP. I'll explain why the PSP is something I won't get:

1. May have better graphics but that'll just waste the already low batterly life.
2. I keep hearing that a little twist on the dang thing will shoot the disk out of it.
3. The square button is messed up in some way(I forgot).
4. The screen gets scratched up very easily.
5. The games and DVD's cost $50
6. The PSP cost $250
7. You have to waste more money on memory sticks.
8. I got my internet on my computer and along with my music so I'm fine the way I am. I don't want to waste $250 just to play music on an iPod. I have a CD player and headphones for it. I have a CD rewriter to store files on my blank CD's.
9. The screen may be big, bright, and may or may not give good quality in visuals, but that means less battery life.
10. Sony won't fix these flaws because they keep blaming it on the gamers.

Overall, I would only get the PSP if I was a die hard Sony fan(which I'm not).

Now for the reasons why the DS is not just another portable game system:

1. You flip the top part to open it, so that means when it's closed, it protects the screens.
2. The touch screen may get scratched but it has good duribility.
3. The only reason why poeple screw up the touch screen is because they "jab" at the screen instead of "touching". The screen is kinda sensitive, no need to jab at it.
4. It has pictochat, unless you already know what it does, you need to go research it.
5. It also has the soon to be released/enabled, internet play.
6. It has the ability to play GB, GBC, and GBA games, or the "backwards" capability.
7. When it comes to Metroid Prime Hunters, you can change the control settings so that you don't have to use the touch screen.
8. There is no need for memory cards/sticks.
9. It uses game cartridges instead of CD's, that means there will not be scratches to mess up the game's performance.
10. The cartridge doesn't shoot out of the DS unless you force it to do so.

With Nintendo's experience in game development, they didn't make as many mistakes as Sony did.

And about what Camm said about Playstation, He's partly right. The PSP has many flaws but it's not that bad. And The PS2 may not be as good as the GCN or XBox(other than exclusive PS2 games). The only reasons for that is because it doesn't have a good graphics proccessor(meaning worse graphics than most games that are on multiple systems), poeple go through multiple PS2's but mainly because they don't take care of it. Putting the PS2 sideways puts strain on the disc, the stands have magnetic parts so that screws it up.

I already have a GC and I don't really play it much unless I have friends over. Even if I do play it, it's RE4, since I'm somewhat bored by my other games...

DS has portability which means it's more convenient. You can play while eating, after school, etc. Not only that, but it's has more features than a cube because it has a mic, a touch screen... When playing games, it's also nice that everyone has their own screens.

And one more thing, DS does NOT play gb/gbc games. It only plays DS and GBA carts.

My favorite game is metal gear solid 3 it is a million times better than #2 because you can use CQC to take down or kill enemies, you can force info out of them with your army knife, you can have a multitude of weapons like the smg or colt 45. Mag or the mk-22 tranquilizer pistol, or my personal favorite the patriot.
Right now I’m working on shooting all the gako frogs so I can get the infinite face paint, which is rumored to give you infinite ammo for any gun you are using at the time.
I would also like to get the e-z gun for all difficulties. But to do that I have to capture or kill all 48 species of animals and plants. I think that will be very hard
Another game I like is called ratchet and clank up your arsenal. It has so many inventive weapons like the morpho-ray, which turns enemies into farm animals like pigs, goats, sheep, and ducks. My second favorite weapon is the mini rocket tube. I also like the lava and blitz guns.
My favorite weapon in the game though is the mini turret glove, because all you do is throw one out and the turret does the work for you.
My favorite arcade game on star edit is demonic defense because it is probably the most simple other than snake.
