Favourite RPG? I'll be the deviant here and go some place completely random:

The Way

It's not completed yet (only 5 episodes released, out of an unknown amount), and it's 8-bit, made with the old RPGMaker2000, but heck, it's got one of the best storylines I've ever seen, a good custom battle system along with the default one in Rm2k, and hey, it's free. Very well done, and the fact that the game is made mostly by one person is truly amazing. And like I mentioned before, one of the best storylines ever. I haven't seen such a unique and intriguing storyline before. If you have the time, I'd suggest you try it out.

all the New RPGs have gone down the Drain Especily FFX and X-2

Star Ocean Till the End of Time was the LAST good RPG(well enless i stand corrected about Xenosaga II)

but the best RPG i would have to say is either

Brave Fencer Musashi
Star Ocean the second Story
FF7
FF3
FF2
(note all FF are US versions)

so yea

and Grand theft Auto SA is a ACTION not a RPG (although it dose have some concepts of a RPG)

I'm not really much of an Rpg fan, but...

Castlevania Symphony of the Night and Legend of Legaia, both for Playstation ,get my vote.
