I would have to say one of the early RPG's that changed History for being the first RPG that uses Lock on technology...

Yes... It is
Ledgend Of Zelda : Orcania Of Time

My favorite RPG of ll time has to be The Legend of Dragoon. Damn that game is gooood. Its for the ps one. It has four discs. I played that game TONS, passed it various times to get everything. It revolutionized the way I thought about video games. If it weren't for that game I would probably not play video games at all.

id call it an adventure cuz rpgs r usually longer than that. Also more excitement and danger.

I liked the original Final Fantasy games. Some of that original feel just didn't carry over to the PlayStation versions.

I also like Diablo II.

heres my top 3 biggrin.gif

1: World of Warcraft. - Because its so vast.
2: Fable. - The best RPG on a console so far i beleive. apart from the story line and quests, theres so much to do. ive had it for a long time and clocked it about 4 times and still enjoy pulling out my obsidian great hammer for a little run.
3: *probably* Final Fantasy. - i dont like the battle sequence, but the graphics and the stopry are good.

o and @ wise_lb120: i absolutely despise kingdo hearts. godam it takes so long and you lose your way very easily... plus it isnt relly that much of an RPG...

Which Final Fantasy? You probably don't mean the original 8- and 16-bit games.

My favorite is the original Legend of Zelda hands down. It's an amazing game for the restrictions that the system carried (NES).

Second best would have to be the original Diablo 1. I've had the game for around 8 years and still continue to play it semi-regularly. So much to do, and theres plenty of competitive aspects as well.

Morrowind.... SUCH A GREAT GAME.... it's like a mmorpg... except single player.... does/ doesnt make sense I know but, it pretty much is the closest thing to a mmorpg that is single player. hard to explain unless you have played the game yourself... also d2 is a great game, i still play it pretty regularly... have to have expansion though, otherwise it sucks.

My favorite game is metal gear solid 3 it is a million times better than #2 because you can use CQC to take down or kill enemies, you can force info out of them with your army knife, you can have a multitude of weapons like the smg or colt 45. Mag or the mk-22 tranquilizer pistol, or my personal favorite the patriot.
Right now I’m working on shooting all the gako frogs so I can get the infinite face paint, which is rumored to give you infinite ammo for any gun you are using at the time.
I would also like to get the e-z gun for all difficulties. But to do that I have to capture or kill all 48 species of animals and plants. I think that will be very hard
Another game I like is called ratchet and clank up your arsenal. It has so many inventive weapons like the morpho-ray, which turns enemies into farm animals like pigs, goats, sheep, and ducks. My second favorite weapon is the mini rocket tube. I also like the lava and blitz guns.
My favorite weapon in the game though is the mini turret glove, because all you do is throw one out and the turret does the work for you.
My favorite arcade game on star edit is demonic defense because it is probably the most simple other than snake.

#1 Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne

The most amazing game I've ever played. It has the best art style of any PS2 game. It doesn't have any stupid hour-long summons, crappy voice acting or year long FMVs, just good old dungeon crawling.

#2 Fallout 2

Lots of great comedy and writing. So many ways to generate characters, too. You can be a melee warrior that punches people's guts out, or an outdoorman that doesn't fight enemies and instead dodges encounters, a thief, a sniper, a charismatic negotiator, etc. Really, really fun.

#3 ADOM

So addictive. So very addictive. The most sadistic Roguelike ever made. Reminds me of Fallout with the new perk system.

Agreed...

Morrowind is my favorite RPG, because of how much freedom you get.

Heh... Just because they're old doesn't mean they're less fun. If you think Final Fantasy 6 for SNES is not a better experience overall than Final Fantasy X-2, you need to re-evaluate your taste in RPGs. Personally, I even thought FF6 was more fun than FF8.

They should try and make a Metroid RPG tongue.gif

Or Mario RPG2 (which I refuse to believe it was Paper Mario). Would own.

Actually yeah, I always wanted Nintendo to make a Metroid RPG, Castlevania-style. Metroid Fusion is perfect for it too (absorbing the X Virus for experience, being able to upgrade your suit because it's partially alive).
