Dust is a mix of evreything floating around the house... So no, It just isnt peices of dead skin flying all around.

If it was true, We all would be eating 500 pounds of dead skin a year.

actually, it is true.

most of the dust in our homes consists of abour 60% dead skin cells.

its not that big a deal, because skin cells are tiny tiny things, its not like thier gunna kill us.

Actually, that may not be the problem at all. I did some research on this particular problem, and came across the site. I'll link you later.

A quick summary (if I remember) is: The xbox's DVD drive's petentiometer (variable resistor) for the laser is set really high; over time, it slowly stops reading discs period. Mine got to the point where it couldn't read brand new music discs.

The solution? Gutting your Xbox, disassembling your Xbox's DVD drive, finding a screw the size of the tip of a pencil, scraping (with a very sharp knife, preferrably) a layer of resin (read: goo) off of it, and turning it counterclock-wise half of a turn.
Turn it more for a more powerful laser, but too powerful and your DVD drive will not only be the noisiest electronic component in your house (including your A/C system),your laser will actually burn the surface of the discs. Not advisable.

After doing that, it worked fine! Just look up some detailed instructions, and there ya go.

or you could send your xbox to Microsoft along with 100$ (plus shipping and handling) and have them send it right back to you in the exact same condition, except with a thorough cleansing.

wow thanks moonmonkey smile.gif hmm this is a tough desision

#1. wait till xbox 360 comes out
#2 clean it and potentially have the chance to make the xbox even worse and ruin my games
#3 send 100$ to xbox and get it fixed
