Well, you just made it worse by giving us that tantalizing piece of information, and then not giving us anything more!!! AUGH!!!

I think that all of us ( that is all of us mac users ) , greatly appreciate you doing this.

When SCM Draft 2 Mac edition is done, we will finally have a competent editor for all our map making wants and desires.

However I am sure we would all appreciate is a little bit more than,
QUOTE(SI)
"I have an ETA from DW for the first version"
as that leaves things hanging a bit much. If you could possibly give us a rough estimate or percentage complete, it might give us a light at the end of the tunnel to look towards, as at this stage we don't know wether 70% has been completed or 50% .

If you where to give us the estimate on the completion date, and someone did complain, that person is just a complete censored.gif , as the person codding this is taking time out of their life to do this for the small % of mac users who play sc.

I would hope the users of this forum would have the maturity to realize that due to whatever circumstances surrounding the completion of this program, problems and delays do arise.

Again i thank you as other have already done, for the creation of this program for the Mac users who enjoy making maps like everyone else.

Answers like that are very hard to be certain of. Even when I might be programming something simple I don't really know when I'll be doen with it. All I really needed to know was that it is still being worked on.

SI did say DW had a ETA, meaning he must know how close he is to being completed.

I was not asking we be given a exact percentage like 85.67871% complete tongue.gif , just a rough estimate, if he said, say 4/5'th of it was done, that would be sufficent.

As you said though, knowing its still being worked on is at least something to keep us hopping.

if theres a eta then there must be a general idea, so frezz be right...

I have a quick question about a feature of Scm draft mac port.

Will you be adding the option to select a tile directly from the tile pallet like SF allows one to do, as at times i find this very handy.

Or for that matter, will you be adding it to any latter release of Scm draft 2 for pc even.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by SI on 2005-10-08 at 06:13:11
the windows version has a tileset palette and has had one for the past year or two, I am fairly sure DW will also port all features to the mac.

I apolagize, i miss worded that.

What i meant to ask was, Will there be the option to select a tile on your map, and have the program take you to that specific tile on the tileset index pallet.

blushing.gif That last post came out all wrong pinch.gif .
Report, edit, etc...Posted by SI on 2005-10-08 at 21:49:33
well, I added that in windows scmdraft 0.6.0 (ctrl click). I assume DW would also add that since most of the code is in place already.

Could DW possibly post a few more screenshots sometime? There have been about four the whole time this has been under development.

Correction, there has been 3 screen shot's cry.gif .

I myself have also been wondering about the progress of this glorious project confused.gif .

lets see, DW says he needs 3 days to finish it, but 3 days where he can work on nothing but it without interruptions and he doesn't know how soon he will have those sad.gif

yes, but it can take a while until he has that time due to work and school and so on :/

Meh, still, that implies it's near completion.

I'd be happy even three weeks from now.
GOGOGOGO SCHEDULE!!!

It has been nearly a month (27 days) since a new post has been made in this thread. 3 days has turned into 4 weeks. Is there any news regarding SCMD2ME? Or, (please say no) is it safe to assume this project will never fully emerge?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Arbitrary on 2005-11-29 at 20:26:48
Apparently DW needed/needs three consecutive days to finish work on the alpha, so "news" has probably taken a backseat to actually completing it. Screenshots included.

He meant 3 days of solid, continuous work. Apparently, he didn't get that much time yet because of work, school, etc. He didn't literally mean 3 days since the time of SI's posting (besides, if he meant that, wouldn't he post himself then?).
