Sitting on a shelf watching a single door is gay. Sitting up on the third story of a building to snipe players running in the streets below is a good tactic.
According to your own words ihatett, the only game you play is StarCraft. So you don't know what the Hell you're talking about. Thanks.

You never know what you're talking about (For example, I could go back and quote you flaming me when I said the new triggers could be exploited).
I have played other games, but none of them are as good/fast/competitive as Broodwar.
Camping is okay as long as you move around every 30 seconds.
I play counterstrike the odd time, and I hate having to wait for the timer to end all because someone on CT is camping and the last guy on Terrorists is AFK.
Why don't you just go /ff 10 times then?
Camping does not give a tremendous advantage. It's useful for racking up kills against noobs, but that's about it. Any one with any skill will take care of a camper. Bashing is a particularly insulting method to dispose of campers.

1. If your opponent comes for you, you have a tremendous advantage.
2. If your opponent doesn't come for you, the game will never end.
There is more than one game type. And the number of players and amount of rounds are also variables. What about health? Rounds left? How about where the objective is?
That's like saying a certain unit in StarCraft is unfair because it's effective against another unit. Boohoo. Not everyone has to play with linear tactics. Having everyone rush would be like all Starcraft players being Terran and building battlecruisers against each other. Pretty boring no? Maybe that will help you understand.
If you can't play a FPS don't try.
*Edit* Punkbuster sucks. Two different versions destroyed my Call of Duty files and RtCW: ET files. I, of course, play the better game now. And camping isn't used as much as in old games, like Allied Assault.

I assumed we are talking about a gametype where camping is not required.
Even if camping is strategically the best move (which it is most of the time; it's overpowered), it doesn't make it any less gay.
I camp some times on CS Source. Pfft my name is The Camper

it really is and my spray paint i imported in was " The Camper Was Here " LoL like if i knew a enemy was coming for me and id spray and run.
Hell no. Grab a sniper in coagulation on halo 2, fly up to that one ledge, and if you're good with snipe, you've pretty much got 20+ kills Right there.
To me camping is not cheating ..but it is kind of cheep and takes no skill...when i see team mates camping on source or somthing in the back of my mind i honestly hope they get nailed by a fat bullet in the head for lacking skill
One game that has got to be the most toughest games to not get shot by snipers is Delta Force Black Hawk Down.
I play it alot online, and some of the maps in it dont have any borders. As in the entire play area is in the middle. But you can run hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of miles out. I remember being like 3000m to the paly area. Snipers go out there all the time and on the cliffs. Then they start shooting away. Its really annoying. But most people manage to avoid being shot at without even knowing there is a sniper aiming at them.
And no one cant be bothered going after them because they are so far away. And since this game has realistic damage you die in one shot depending where you do get shot. So every leaves snipers alone unless they have the patients to travel friggin miles behind the sniper and take him out.
And to make things worse, some of the ppl blend into the terrain making it so hard to see. Anyways camping is for snipers, sniping is just a general strategy so i dont see why its so "cheap" and ruins the game.
I think its hilarious, I do it on halo and talk blam down the mic <3
Yes, to snipe (realistically), you have to "camp," or rather sit in one spot for a bit.
Though I must admit it is fun to have a powerful rifle and shoot people unscoped up close.
You just _CANT_ camp in Q3 CPMA

Yea, it's pretty gay for two reasons:
1. If your opponent comes for you, you have a tremendous advantage.
2. If your opponent doesn't come for you, the game will never end.

Erm... Isn't that what you want? And it only gives a tremendous advantage if it's done right.
It's a legitimate stratergy.
Though I don't camp at all, because it's stupid to camp when your playing very good people.ADDITION:

ROFL!!!! Omg, when playing good people you'll probably at least get 1 kill off that....Oh yeah, I doubt you would make it up onto that ledge... IN R6 lockdown its prety hard to camp... As when you kill someone they can talk to their teamates tell them exactly where you are... They run it sideways blow your face into the wall... OR throw a grenade and you run out screaming and get shot...
Camping is always defeatable. Unless theres a room with respawning health, ammo/wapons, one entrance, and no outside windows, its pretty easy to win. Campers are easy to take out, fire in a rocket, chuck in a frag grenade, strafe, etc. If there are two entrances, go in with two people. If there's a window, chuck a grenade through it.
In CTF, if someone is guarding the flag, people are like: zomfg wtf camper!!!!11. They seem to think that their enemy should have no defense.
I wanted to play instagib on dm17 one day.
Well ofc I was winning all the polish guys and I got lotsa "CAMPER! MOVE"
Well what should I do on that map?! Jump like mad in their crosshairs? o.O
Also when I see an enemy for a moment heading towards me, I sometimes stop and take them by suprise. Stupid poles always go "camper noob".
