Sigh I-X-King-X-I would take one week of hackfree gaming due to patch, which ultimately gets you no where, than to keep the EUD triggers.

BTW: He's saying it takes at least a week for hackers to update hacks after a patch. I've heard they can update it in a day, is it true?

Just sc crashes when online. But if everyone is using a mac, or if your by yourself, then the ued triggers simply don't run.

I guess my testing wasn't needed after all. Ho Hum...

DTBK & LW. Calm down. The last thing we need is some of our most knowledgable members bickering over who's program is better. You two aren't helping. Who cares which is better, people use both and both have advantages and disadvantages.

The thing is, we aren't 100% sure of a patch. We never will be until it comes out. Until it does, continue with StarCraft and your maps as if you didn't hear anything about it.

Although I have not spoken to Entropy directly (YET), I would like to assure you all the following:

The "upcoming patch" threat is ridiculous and negligent until BLIZZARD and only Blizzard says anything about it.

Is Entropy unaware that these maps cannot hold viruses? Is he spreading lies or misunderstanding? I speak with an objective mind; please correct me if what I am percieving is less than likely. I have messaged him with my concerns and I am awaiting his reply.

In regard to Macintosh crashes, it is a possibility that Blizzard will react and patch, but (A) it has not been announced, and Entropy is definitely not a reliable source for this information, only Blizzard is, and (B) Blizzard may not decide to patch because UMS maps are not StarCraft, and are not particularly important in Blizzard's regard, corporately or fiscally.

Are you on crack? Last time I checked Starcraft is the only Blizzard game in which there are players that are making 6 digit salaries to play the game competitively (Nada, Boxer). If Starcraft never came along Blizzard would be nothing... It's Blizzard's best interest to keep Starcraft going strong.

Slap Blizzard's logo infront of all these professional games and the thousands of people that watch them see the logo, and purchase Blizzard products, it's that simple.

Thats why you still see new players on sc.

Not to mention they need some StarCraft fans to purchase SC: Ghost... if they shut down Battle.net for SC or whatever, I sure as hell wouldn't be getting it.

but if it could be true that some idiot sent this map to blizzard, what's the best ? blizzard having the map that could do evil things on your computer and patching to prevent that, or anyone else having it and every 10 old kid sending virus because their maphack wasnt enough and got pissed afte losing ?

The guy probably sent a zip to Blizzard with a virus named "map.scx" and attached the message "ZOMG! VIRUS IN LE MAP! EUD TO BLAME! check out http://www.staredit.net for more info."

I want to know what they think they could do to protect Macs from crashing when these were activated, sounds like a major patch, and with only one guy working on Starcraft, you'll have a lot of time to spare.

i looked on battle.net site, and i dont see anything about a patch on the way, but if there is who says that its gonna patch the euds? a bunch of ppl said that they cant patch this because its in the memory of starcraft itself...

If it was one guy, then why did the representitive from Battle.net forums say they had a team working on it?

But no, it wouldn't be for "macs crashing", otherwise they'd have patched extended players three patches ago. Macs can still crash using players 9-11 too.

That stupid. I know a good hacker, if i can catch him on msn, i'll ask him if he can put a virus on a map or it's a bull:poo: from some Pubbie around.

Anyway, EUD was a revolution of map making and I can't understand why people don't love them. I can understand that the fact the people spread sucky map using them but you know it's new and we got to learn to deal with these.

I'd assume that Macs crash because they're like ported versions that only have the outside looks of Windows SC but have different codings that can't handle EUD. You can't fix that with just a patch.

... ET maps are one of the reasons I'm so much more active in op SEN and in Clan uUu. Before that I had little interest or inspiration for new ideas for creating maps.
