You said yourself you have 12 weapons. So the hero only has X weapons.

For the dark templar method: If your picking up weapons just create the unit to be mindcontroled by your mindarchon selection area when you pick up the weapon.

13, currently, because I forgot to count in the Dark Blade of Death, and then I might add some more anyway.
"Player has X weapons".
...How would that work?
I know how the picking-up weapons will work, anyway.

Make up your mind. I can't help you write triggers for something that you don't even know how its suppost to work. So do you pick up weapons?

I was refering to this by X

If you use a Dark Archon, then how do you control how many items the person carries on them?

sorry that was kinda unclear. Its a varable representing a unknown number.

What do you mean, what the hell are you trying to do?

I am now totally confused, but will say something of use to everyone...
Lets not make a map too complicated eh, no use going technical when there is no need!

*sigh*
This is frustrating.
How can I get you to understand?
QUOTE
Make up your mind.

... dude, I already HAVE! I just told you the ONE and ONLY problem I'm having with using MY system! I'm using my system, not yours!
QUOTE

I DO know how it's supposed to work! YOU'RE the one that suggested to use the "Player owns X units at location" idea!
QUOTE

So, now you're saying that if I'm going to use a Dark Archon, which I have decided on, that I should use that trigger? So, a healing potion should takeup the same amount of space a a longsword??

Dude, I understand everything. If you're going to try to help me, then solve this problem for me:
QUOTE
Player drops off a Zergling, and he's using a Zealot.
Because he dropped a Zegling, there's only 1 space. but Zealots require 2. "
THAT's the problem I'm having now, because I have the centered location problem fixed, Bolt...

Find out how I can ensure that there's enough space in the dropship for the switched-out weapon to be placed in the dropship, when the weapon unloaded from the dropship is SMALLER than the one being switched-out.

Ok The way im seeing it is you have a separate area to select your “weapons” than your “items” You would use the dark archon for your weapons I wasn’t even referring to the items that’s a completely different system. Unless you want the items only to be available to the weapon you picked it up as we shouldn’t be talking about it yet. (this is why you confuse me). Then the drop ship thing confuses me further more cause then you say your using the dark archon but turn around and ask how to solve the drop ship problem.

What methods are you using for what things, do you have a sample, It may be clear in my mind but its rather distant in mine.

Ok first off did you see my coordinates map? If you refuse to look at that then I’ll say this.

Whenever you drop a unit it would go onto a location with a ground elevation only. Then you make a trigger when that unit is at that ground location you remove the unit do the required actions (like replaceing your weapon).

The second part of this is to restock the drop ship. You need to first remove all the units from the drop ship. And load every weapon possible into the drop ship. And use remove to remove the weapon your using. So quite simply You make sure your drop ship can carry all your units. If that isn’t enough space you should make the drop ship into a menu with subcategories like I did in Coordinates. But this is why I would suggest using the dark archon method because if you have enough weapons to fill the drop ship you might be better off just using the dark archon. Or I guess you can always use more than one drop ship.

It uses a Dropship, but it ALSO uses a Dark Archon!
Why can't you understand that?
Yes, I looked at your map, and it was cool, but I don't plan on using a system similar to that.
Here, I'll show you an example of what happens with my system...
The Player has some money, goes to the shop, and buys a weapon. His current weapon, Fists, appear in the Inventory Box under the control ofthe Friendly Computer. The Weapon he bought, a Lance(Firebat) takes the place of his Hero. He decides, for some reason or another, to switch back-to his Fists(Zergling), so he MC's the Fists with his Dark Archon and moves them to the Use Item beacon. So the Lance is given to the computer and put in the Inventory, while the Fists are placed as the Hero. He somehow acquires a Healing Potion, so Healing Potion(Marine) is placed in the Inventory, but under his control. To use it, he brings it to the "Use Item" Beacon. Then, he suddenly gets another, and he orders it to load into the BAckpack(Shuttle). He buys a Long Bow(Ghost), and orders it into the Shuttle. Then, he goes to the Go to Quest beacon, and appears at the Quest Area. He decides to switch to his Long Bow, so he unloads his Ghost, and his Zergling is put in the Shuttle. He decides to heal, so he unloads his Healing Potion. He finds a weapon on the ground, and it appears in the shuttle.

Ok So your saying it uses both systems? And both systems do the exact same thing, So its just user preferance?

Does the drop ship follow you around? You said it was a back pack? Or is it just in a inventory area?

I can understand why you would be talking about items if your working off of a carry system like they do in diablo.

I still think what i said about the dropship above is what you will have to do.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by EzDay281 on 2004-04-29 at 22:36:05
Just in inventory.
User Preference?? It uses a combination of both systems! It's not choose which one you want to use, because if it were that, I'd need more triggers, and it'd be useless because Dark Archons would OWN the Shuttle, because they don't limit you to 8 unit spots.
YES I'm using a system similar to Diablo, I said that already!

allright I officially don't know why your useing both.

Because he is mad, silly, and likes to make problems for himself?
Or just because?

I am mad, silly, and weird, and I'm because, yes.
I can't exactly remember why I decided to use Dark Archons, but if I decided on using them, I must have had SOME kind of reason...
