lol i understand all of that.. i used to think of that.. but i thought differently what if to them Red is some other color.. that to me doesnt exit. What if the colors you are seeing i've never even seen in my life or are non-existant to me.

Think of this..if sombody were to discover a new color.. what would it look like

I thought of that before, it's that animals see different colors from us. If you were replaced with cat eyes and maybe a cat brain, you'll probably see different colors even in the dark.

ok me and my friends were talking and we suddenly relized that you cannot describe color. like, my yellow could be some one elses green. get it? there is no way anyone can know. i think it's funny to have little kids describe it. they get fustrated and it kinda funy lookin.  wallbash.gif then i try to explain that it's impossible and they try all day to prove it. lol it's so funny. cause they come back with the same answer they had an hour before. but ne way. tell me, what does color look like. cant use color or shades or light in that case. use other adjectives.

But what you consider red may bend differently into our eyes, or our brain register it differently as purple.

But some people's vision might be mixed up. Maybe I see blue as what all of you see red. We'll never know.

*Continuation off of Ham*

but we both agree that that one color is considered 'red'.

[center]I'm here to kill the fun.
Color = The wavelength of the light that reflects off the surface of the object in question.

This idea is old. In fact, there was a thread on it a long time ago by, I believe, FireKame(Kame da Sniper).

If people might have different views on color per person, I don't think anyone would call clothes 'matching'.

Color or colour [1] is the perception of the frequency (or wavelength) of light, and can be compared to how pitch (or a musical note) is the perception of the frequency or wavelength of sound.

It is a perception which in humans derives from the ability of the fine structures of the eye to distinguish (usually three) differently filtered analyses of a view. The perception of color is influenced by biology (some people are born seeing colors differently or not at all; see color blindness), long-term history of the observer, and also by short-term effects such as the colors nearby.

The science of color is sometimes called chromatics. It includes the perception of color by the human eye, the origin of color in materials, color theory in art, and the physics of color in the electromagnetic spectrum.

You know, I want to be this lobster (I'm not sure if its a lobster) but anyways, I want to be this lobster that has like, the most sophsticated eye with more lens then a fly =O!!
So they like, have 8 different primary colors; while we have only 3 (OWNED) and like, that would be cool cool.gif .

This simply would mean that they can see ultra violet and infrared light, or simply light that we can't see. Octopi are said to have the most sophisticated lenses for veiwing light. (And they have the fastest reflexes of any animal!)

Anyway, there are three primary colors red, blue, and yellow. But there are also the three primary colors of light, which are Red Green and Blue.

The primary colors of light act like sound keys, in that you combine them to get different hues, but the other colors (forgot what their official name is) diffract the light differently, acting as sort of an EQ for music.

You capitalized one set of colors and not the other? Illiteracy?

I characterize people by color, this may sound racist but I don't mean it in that sense. For instance, I find myself thinking of green when I see Yoshi. Or another example is... RexyRex, who reminds me of a red.

Many things come into play with my characterization of people by color. For instance, even though Yoshi's name has to do with Yoshi, it reminds me of Bowser. Bowser's shell is green, so Yoshi reminds me of a green. On the other hand, RexyRex reminds me of a T-Rex. The T-Rex reminds me of the color red, so she becomes a red.

Other things like people's personalities make me classify them as a certain color. For instance, TheOddAngel is a blue. He is a blue because of his quiet and reserved personality. On the other hand, HeRtZ is a yellow due to his excessive happiness.

That's one way I characterize color...

ADDED: And MiniMoose2707 is an orange because nobody likes orange.

There has been a time when i thought hard about this, if my definition of what i see is the same as everyone else? what if it was different?

one day i meet a person who was RED/GREEN color blind, i asked him what was the color of the grass, he said green, even though to his eyes its gray.

that makes you think of something doesn't it huh?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Toothfariy on 2005-09-14 at 15:57:48
thats me ur talkin about color blind... only partly and it's just that the colors are too closely blended together to see a difference between colors. but they say that color blind ppl have a WAY better vision at night then non-color blind people. but yeah ur right too, and here is a bigger point outside of this topic, science might not always be right. even though it seems like they are,we can't ever know.

you know yoshi that made me think about music. as the same as color, what if sound was different in somone elses ears? again, we can't ever know. but i think thats partly why people like different types of music and colors that they wear. weird concept though
