Doesn't matter. Beside's, I learned not too judge people by their age because of this site. I was always picturing people from this site, the same age, if not, older than I was. But, the more I get to know people, the majority of them are younger. I mean, WOW, some of them are like 12-13 years old. I didn't have Starcraft until about April-March last year! bleh.gif

I meant it was a bad example. Using a historical genius as an age difference isn't really a good example. A good example would be that my friend is 14 years old and he created Poker TD. Which if you've seen it or not is a pretty damn good map.

@ Voyager

Yeah, wait until someone realizes they have to download 5-6 bad maps. One's that are:

a.) Pointless
b.) Stupid
c.) Buggy
d.) Weird
e.) All of the above

Personally, I am not the DLDB type. Beside's a 56k modem isn't your best DLDB helper-er person!

Which is why I feel UMS Leader is better. My connection will not do anything to that(If I am good enough for a selection...)!

Sure you judge by age. Do you think some big company would want to high a 13-15 year old? (They can't because it is illegal for one. For two, they know that highering older people brings better results)

So go ahead and think i'm a prick, but i'll judge every single person here by age (Even the select few that is older then me) because I know that people younger then 16 usualy are to immature to hold a responsibility (I didn't say every single one was. But the majority is)

So of course judge by age because jobs do it all the time.

This is a site, not real life. You are going to probibly judge them in real life, and if you don't, that is "good for you" (I certainly would judge them because i'm 2-5 years older then most members here so I have senority tongue.gif No. I would judge them because I have the common sense to know that they can't hold certain responsibilities)

So before you try to say that we are at fault for judging them for their age, just try to consider that it's the right thing? I bet Yoshi was looking for maturity, and the ability to take on your responsibility. Not some 12-15 year old who can make good maps, with no maturity, and can't keep their responsibilities.

Age discrimination at SEN

Judging people's maturity by there age is a very bad thing to do. And i can tell you several reasons why...

Have you ever played Prison Escape? the map was insanely popular before I ever made a name for myself. Anyways this map was made by a person who was 11 at the time, yet he was one of the better mapmakers i knew.

But lets not try to pick out specific examples of one person. Like how about when i went to high school I realized a lot of these people are still stupid bullies, they will be for the rest of there life. The world holds nothing for them regardless of there age. Then i got a job at a restaurant only to enforce this veiw. I worked with people who were at least twice my age but I was more mature than many of them. Its amazing to see someone who is married with children walk out on their job because there pissed at the manager one day.

Most of society today will look at basically all of SEN as immature. Adults have always had it out for teenagers “What’s wrong with today’s Youth?”. And ironically I saw that as a magazine title of a life magazine published in the early 70s at my grandmothers once. The youth that the publishers were complaining about are now complaining about us.

In Missouri you can't get a full drivers license until your 18 when your 16 and 17 you get what is called a Graduated license where you basically have a state enforced curfew, and a few other restrictions. But so many people look down on people just a few years younger than them. Last summer I started going out with a girl who is 18 years old, when she broke up with me people told me that "she's 18 hasn't matured much yet" but here someone who is 18 would be regarded as a very mature person. (just how Kellimus takes on the roll of the highly mature member at sen above) Age discrimination can be turned around on me too. I’m 21 and if i got a good job got married and got my own place middle-aged people like my parents would refer to me as inexperienced in life thus looking down on me. The question of maturity would come up.

When do we break the barriers of maturity? Generally everyone assumes themselfs to be mature but everyone younger than them hasn't matured yet. And there opinions change as they get older. But i can tell you from experience that i know a lot of people here who may be 15-17 who are more mature than most of the 19-23 year old people living in my hall. Maturity doesn’t happen at a magical age, especially the maturity required to do something like manage the download database. I would think someone who is 13 would be better for the job cause I would assume they would have more time.

PS. Clokr_ is 16 now

I wasn't judging maturity...i said do you think genius of SCIENCE would be on sen...there are genius' of starcraft of course. But should they be entrusted with the responsibilty of the expectance of fellow map makers that the DLDB should keep on top of it? I don't think an 11 year old's top priority is to make sure he dls and plays everyone elses map and gives a true review of it. isn't that the point of DLDB? not to MAKE maps but to review them?

There are always exceptions to life. If you took an AVERAGE 11 year old, his little mind could not comprehend all the maps that go in and out of the DLDB...period.
