Well, All that is true, but if you look up a black whole, it expands, then contrasts. That is why I say that! It justn't just contrast!

First off, the word is "contract". A black hole is very different from a red giant. a black hole is a star the collapses in on itself. It then is so dense that the gravity is so intense that light cannot escape the surface. Light can come out of a red giant. Red giants expand and eventually dwarf into smaller stars, but they don't suck everything into them.

Actually paladin, our sun is supposed to explode in 5 million years, and a black hole will come. So you're slightly incorrect.

I think Paladin is trying to say that if a blackhole is ever formed, it won't happen for 10 billion years

What'll happen is just that the Sun will grow bigger once it will have consummed all it's nuclear carburent (word?), and the first 2 planets will just get deleted from there (or only one). Perhaps it'll reach Earth too; but we'd be all dead to see that happen cuz of the heat.
The point is; You need a supernova to make a black hole. The sun can't do that. There.
