First, I hope everyone here knows that a roach cannot survive a nuke! They can survive the nuclear winter, but not the nuke! Just keep that in mind before you post!
Okay, does any one here believe that the destruction of humans is going in a nuclear war?On the one hand, I don't, because when one gets down to it, there isn't enough nuclear power to nuke the whole Earth! My perspective is that we will all die from the Earths slow movement away from the sun causing the Earth to freeze; or the sun turning into a black hole, which makes the sun under go a growth time and burn everything on the Earth, then the Earth freezes.
On the other hand, it is still a possiblitly that could happen! You see, people are stupid and they don't relize their actions effect until after. I can sum this up with Hitler. The U.S. supported Hitler while he made his rise to power, and then we ended up fighting him to get him the

out of there! Kind of a big mistake on the U.S.'s part! (Did you know that the U.S. took jews out of the Olimpics just to let Hitler watch in peace!)
I don't ever remember US supporting Hitler...I remember the US cutting off funds to Germany, but never this support
anyways, my thoughts on a nuclear war
does it matter how we die? Seriously, why must we focus on tomorrow, when today isn't even finished?
That is my inspirational phrase, and the short way of saying live in the now, not in the tomorrow.
I'm pretty sure there's enough nuke to turn the earth into a radioactive nuclear wasteland. Of course, out of the "superpowers" (China and the US mainly), nobody wants to shoot first. But all it takes is for one crazed guy to shoot one nuke, and all hell breaks loose.
But then again, we all have to go some day. And for survivors, would you really want to live in post-nuclear earth, where you can't go out without protection from the fall out and that most people are sterile and dying from disease?
There are most certainly enough nukes in America alone to cause a nuclear winter and wipe out the human race. I think that we have at most 50 years left. The gap between the rich and poor will increase so drastically that some huge redistribution of wealth will occur. In the ensuing chaos, who knows how many dictators and madmen will sieze power?
Go with it... All people should die.
Yeah, we've screwed up this planet enough as it is. Let's just get it over with.

Thats how I think to, theres no idea to be worried about tommorow since you can just as well die today..
I dont understand why the

everyone wants some nukes, ofcourse they say its to balance the power of the superpowers but is a superweapon like a nuke really needed to do that?
Yeah, just make everybody die, now THERE's a survival strategy
jk
A topic i would have expected Aster to open first.. but eh what the hell haha.
Nuclear destruction is always a very good possibility. Man has always been known to be his own undoing. And like Spaceboy said all it really does it take one crazy guy to shoot one for the rest of the superpowers to get freaked out that someones nuking them and launch there nuclear arsenal, then its just a chain reaction.
But in the end i think that man will eventually be its own undoing, maybe by nuclear warfare, maybe over population and starvation, maybe the fact we pollute our planet so much that we all cant live on it anymore, and if advanced space travel isnt a reality then... well.. then we all just kind of die from then pollution.
I probably would have started it if he hadn't

That's impossible; the sun is too big for us to strive away from the gravitationnal attraction.

Lies again; the sun ain't big at all the create a super nova or a black hole. It'll only end up as a white or brown dwarf... Or a planetary nubula (or whatever else you call it).
No one is stupid enough to launch nukes everywhere anyway; we'll die before some stupid guy do it first. There are way too much other things we must worry about first... Air polution, water polution, fuel and many other natural ressources shortages, etc...
On another note; you don't need to launch bombs everywhere on Earth to destroy humanity, just get the 15 biggest cities and everything will go down in a matter of years after...
Actually, there's a black hole at the galaxy's center, and in a couple trillion years (if we're still around xD) we will ALL DIE FROM IT

It's still a theory though :/
They could find out some radio ratings from there, which could prove to be a black hole, or something else they do not know of. It ain't the closest B.H. though. There some other smaller one somewhere else I do not remember of

Aye... if we really wanted to destroy the world in a hurry... all we gota do is give Aster a Nuke... he'll be the mad man to launch!
Well we can count on the Russians to do that, can't we

?
The human race is scheduled for decimation anyway. It may not be nuclear war that destroys us, but the entire universe goes in cycles, almost everything before us does not exist anymore because they were killed by some natural phenomenon. Something will come and eventually destroy us all, either we will kill ourselves, or there will be a shift in the universe, and next thing you know, were all dead.
Well dont we all have cheerful outlooks on the earth and the human races future

I think nuclear war would be fun. At least if I got some radiation-induced super power...

When earth runs out of resources.. we will have the technology to make air into food.
If destroy earth with nuclear weapons then all survivors will move to mars. ^see note above^

Then we won't really have run out of resources have we?

Why thank you Rayne! That's true, but my preferred method of world destruction is a laser blast from orbit...
I'm kind of working backwards, so here I go...
First, the Earth will never run out of resources. The reason I can say this is that their will always be some sort of animal that can use what we destroy. It is like what they say in Jurasic Park, Life will survive (or is it live on?)
Next, the sun is big enough for a black hole! The way the sun makes up for the space it right before it turns into a black hole it grows and grows. As it gets bigger, the water on earth drys up skin cancer rises, and then everything on earth burns. It is in this time period that human houses burn down sending us to caves...again. Over time we would re-evolve....
Third, FireKame is a retard!
Now, back to my opinion. If The nukes did launch, and the whole Earth was destroyed, every last square, then atleast we don't have to worry about Roaches taking over our places! I mean, that would suck! What would happen is another animal/plant immune to radiation (and it may even feed off of it) will grow!
something I just realized is that if the world were to get blown up by nuclear warfare, wouldn't that create a ton of asteriods carreening out of control? There would be no where to hide even if we did have the technology to colonate the moon or other immidiate planets
Now that is bull

! How is there an astroid if the nuke is pushing everything into the ground? FireKame, have you ever pushed snow until it wont move anymore? It is the same thing...except ten times more powerful! And the debri pushed off to the right, the atmosphere would keep it locked in!
how is there an atmosphere if there is no core?
:raises eyebrow:
dear god flaming_x, keep our scwabble off these boards. no one else cares, truthfully. Besides, I want to be in a good mood today, because this week has been a good one
