You guys aren't getting the point...i created this topic to inform everyone that if you think i have it bad your wrong...things are alot worse with some people..i'm very lucky...
As far as education goes...tomorrow im going to get all my clothes and giving my parents a generator since they still have no electricity..from what i'm told on monday i'll be inrolled in a clear lake city highschool. Most people think moving to a new school is a hard thing.. I love it... I love meeting new people, going places, etc. I feel very bad for my parents chances are i wont go home for months...
Tomorrow when i go to my house to get my stuff i'm going to bring my starcraft and bw home..Chances are slim my grandpa will let me install them though...
Just do one thing for me guys...give a little prayer to those who are really in need...i'm not asking for religious prayer just a wish that everyone will be okay soon...
Thanks guys...
P.S The worst part of all of this i think is the fact that 500 people from louisiana moved here after the destructive hurricane and now livingston (where they were staying) became a target of one... I feel bad for them...there limited lives destructed yet again and this time before they were even back on their feet..
Ignorance my friend, is the main reason why those areas are in such terrible conditions as they are.
You live near the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, an area very prone to Hurricanes. Last time I heard, the last Cat 3+ Hurricane you had was back in 1998 with Georges. Consider yourselves lucky that in 7 years you've only had 2 major hurricanes (Georges, Katrina). Other minor Hurricanes such as Ivan and Rita don't do as much damage.
People keep thinking that just because they've never seen a Hurricane doesn't mean that they will never experience one.
In Puerto Rico we have been lucky this year that nothing has hit us. Heck, we feel lucky even to get 1 Hurricane per year. We've gotten our share of Category 5 Hurricanes, the last CAt. 5 Hurricane that hit us was Lenny in December 21ish in like 2001. You don't expect a Cat. 5 Hurricane in December, much less traveling from east to west. That thing passed extremely close to the island causing big problems but I saw no sign of anyone in the U.S. giving help to us. Only thing that we get in money from FEMA.
Now a small Cat. 2 Hurricane hits Florida (Like last year), and the whole country is paralyzed ans sends troops from all over to help bring up 2 power lines and a tree.
Right now, part of Puerto Rico's Army division is in Louisiana/Texas. What the heck do we have to do with that? Texas and Louisiana have far larger segments of the Army. But then I remember in 1995, we were hit by a lot of Hurricanes (Iris, Luis, Marylin and a few other more), in 1998 Georges rammed through the middle of the island, there wasn't electrical power in any part of it for a week. Bertha hit us hard in 1996. Jenny destroyed all crops last year and Lenny is another story. Not once did any segment of the Army from the states come here to help.
You want to see a bad flood? Head over to a Dam in Arecibo druing a Hurricane and see a whole valley(used for meatstock) get flooded along with a half a city. You all have places to evacuate, we only have 4 million people in a 100x35 mile island with no place to evacuate.
In essence all I have to say is: Why all this ignorance for such little damage caused by a Hurricane. A whole nation is paralyzed by a hurricane, but when other places like Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, and neighboring countries to the US are hit by one... we all keep our cool and work it out. I'm not saying that you deserve it, I'm saying that being ignorant makes it worse for you and those not involved.
Okay well look at it like this for the population density it is a MAJOR effect on our sociaties (or however you spell it)... The fact that this doesn't happen often is another reason why american is paralyzed, you also must understand WE HAVE NO GAS!!!! Off the gulf 10% of the worlds oil was effected because of these last hurricanes... This is a serious problem...It was :censored:ing chaos in the evacuations...and for city's like livingston (where i USE to live >.< past tense) it became a serious condition to where national gaurd was required to help... Beaumont and places like Cleveland were in deep need of electricity these area's just now receiving electricity as far as my old house goes it still wont have electricity for atleast another 2 weeks...
This is a major problem....
oh man...dude im so sorry
i truely wish that you and your family and the needed help ones will get better...no doubt
im sorry for what happened to you, i meean i wouldnt know how you felt, but my family is also in Houston
please, pray for them and please make no negative remarks about this...
dam hurricanes
Well we're all "okay" my parents will be "okay" they are just struggling right now...but alot of families arn't as lucky as mine....some lost their family members and their whole lives because of this.. crazy..
yeah deblois i'm sure you've dropped out of school and "lived on the streets".. thats why your on Staredit.net and you play Starcraft. Thats real gangsta my friend. Do all your "hood" friends play starcraft too? And if you got so many friends why did you leave them "on the street" to play starcraft. And it's spelled P-U-S-S-Y not PUSS mr dropout. We'll see who's a "puss" in like 10 years when ur workin at like burger king n i got a job n making like 1000 times ur poor self. But that's ok you live on the streets there's no rent there.
ADDITION
Guy's did you know this hood gangster from the streets also has a website. I'm sure he learned that from the streets. Guy's this smart guy is also posting on his site links to "Himself" about him doing crimes such as "Breaking and Entering, Theft, and Possession of Stolen Property, and Trafficking and Possession of Marijuana( it said he was caught both times). Now as we all know you dont go to juvie or jail for ne of this stuff and since he dropped out of school he had tons of extra money to pay the fines (over 5,000) so of coarse he could still be on Starcraft and be saying all this stuff. O yeah its funny tho i never knew police reports were made on notepad.

well if you think about it, it's kind of there fault there in that position, because when the meteorologist's told them the storm is going to hit the united states, they warned them. did they listen? some did but not alot, if they left and moved to a place that was going to be safe from the hurricane, i think most of this nonsense would happen.

What are you Blaming it on bush?
Get a life you :censored:ing Tool
I feel sorry for everyone hit by the hurricane
Especially the ones who got hit really really bad.. You are one of the fortunate ones that actually survived the hurricane
There wasn't a mass of fatalities however thousands are without homes.. and electricity

All I have to say to that is... How did you come up with that? He didn't say anything about Bush and you just randomly come in and flame him. And also I don't get what your saying. Grammar helps if you want people to understand you. Yeah. Anyway, my school had a fundraiser for the hurricane
What I'm thinking now is "It didn't hit Bermuda. Yay." I have great aunts and great uncles there, and Bermuda is only 24 miles long, and about 4 miles wide. But about Katrina and Rita, that would be scary. How could the water get so dirty that you can't even touch it? Maybe we should put SC maps we make on CD's, sell them to people, and donate the money to Red Cross... Just a thought.
ok Fine, Sorry i get stupid when im tired but that sounded like what he was saying to me XD
(the CD idea isnt bad)
do the words "act mature" mean anything to you guys..lol

What? I WAS actually kind of serious about the CD idea...
Finally someone else knows the pain of living alone for months with no energy and communication.
Welcome to my world, except add some snow.
Tough luck, but hopefully insurance will help out out.
Best wishes to you and your family, it would be terrible to be in a situation like this id say.

Yeah i'm trying to determan if i should lock this or not. It seems too many people can't handle talking about this.
not alot of people are being stupid...
i hope you get better UBCS
No one seems to be putting their p.o.v.'s. Everyone seems to be apologizing, like they care.
It's a poor thing that happened. But the best thing is you lived through it.
SCHOOL-HATERS: School is EXTREMELY important. Without it, the diffculty will be hard to get a high paying job. Think about it.
I created this topic to inform the viewers that never take advantage of the little things like electricity and never think that it won't happen to you it can happen to anyone... I never thought a hurricane would hit by me...i thought i was 100% safe...
I was foolish.
Before someone suggest that it is stupid there are many places that are prone to natural disasters but we don't think it stupid to live there. If you have never experienced a natural disaster that doesn't occur in your region, the thought of it much scarier.
For an example where I live I'm much more afraid of an earth quake than a tornado, and the thought of a active volcano near is scary as hell. I've seen a tornado but never been in a earth quake. People in California probably feel the exact opposite. And would say it is foolish to live where I am especially if they have seen the movie twister.
The magnitude of these hurricanes was very unpredictable. So just because there is a risk doesn't mean you shouldn't live in that area. Just because your in a skyscraper doesn't mean its going to be hit by a plane. The chances are actually extremely slim.
Where i live in Missouri we have the New Madrid Fault in the south east corner of the state (the boot hill). In 1811 there was a series of massive earth quakes. They were so fierce that it rang church bells in Bostin a 1000 miles away, and it made the Mississippi river flow backwards. This is Relevant because the New Madrid Fault has been due to blow for most of our life time. Since this time St Louis and several other large cities have populated in it's danger zone the results would be much worse than they were 200 years ago.
So the question is are people stupid to live near there? Are we stupid to live on earth because of the possibility of a meteorite collision? Were the people stupid to live near the gulf coast cause of risk of Hurricane? Well the answer is no, you can’t live your whole life in fear.
So some people here should feel a little more pity instead of blaming the people for being alive.
Man i Hope you do alright i feel bad about what happened
