QUOTE(Euro)
Mcafee doesn't catch all viruses, neither does norton, truth is there will always be at least 1 that passes by. Thats why I have AVG, norton, and mcafee.
Beware that most of the times anti-virus apps aren't exactly compatible with one another. Extreme caution is advised when you do/try such a stunt.
QUOTE(Insane04)
... I have only 1, which is mcafee. I dont get why this is crashing me, maybe I should take it into technical services and have them clean it out or something. I mean, I reformatted my computer twice and it still crashes my computer. So insanely stupid.
Which version of McAfee do ya have? I know that some have been dumped by them (read, no more updates to those versions).
Besides that, make sure that all files that you dl get into the same folder (to ease your control) and set the anti-virus to scan all contained items over there.
And it's also my advice for ya to also
check for spy/add/spamware, since you stated that in certain occasions it crashed while you were browsing over the
Net. Sometimes, these spyware/whatever are the one source for similar kinds of 'evil' inside your PC. Imo, they act similar to virus, since they get on your PC without your knowledge and run without your consent as well in 9 out 10 times. (
Kazaa and others like
eMule are prone to have'em bundled in their installation packs.)
