Or, you know they could've faked it which would have been much easier than sneaking in realitvely hgih definition television cameras into a cruel central american chiken farm.
I really don't think they will fake torturing chickens just to bash KFC. And there is also this other one that talks about the other animals. If they care so much about the animals they won't slit real cows and hang them there alive just to make a fake thing.
So your saying they are torturing chickens for a film that's meant to stop people from torturing chickens?
If they have neural paths for other sensations, why not pain?
Shotgun, you have to understand that chickens are very different from mammals, their nerves are layed different and they do NOT process pain identically.
You know, you can torture animals all you want, but why is killing insects not wrong?
Why does this matter, if they are going to die in the end and end up being eaten, does it matter how they get there? Once they are dead, it won't matter. It's not right to kill them in the first place but it's done, so what makes it wrong how they are killed?
Yet another reason I don't eat meat.
Is anyone else a vegetarian?
(just curious)
I LIKE to torture Spiders..Its just an thing i do...
Why are there vegetarians? Is it because they feel bad that they're eating something that was once alive, could think, or feel? So in that case, the vegetarians should band together and tell the cheetas to stop attacking their food supply. It is important to eat meat, for health reasons and for the sake of earth's population (I know, the second is more of a problem with humans).
I only half agree with syphon in that chickens don't have any awareness, but I do believe they feel pain, for they do have nerves.
I'm mainly veggie because I've seen how they make ground beef and the such. Ever heard of the 'poke and sniff' meat test? God it's sick.
Also, I don't believe anyone should be able to decide what lives and what dies.
This is how we live. "Right and wrong" are opinions. The ones addressing the cruelty think this is wrong. Mass growth and slaughter of chickens is part of the industry to provide us with food.
Obviously, there's no reason to "care" about it now, because it's been happenning ever since humanity started eating meat. It's a provider of food, why should we care what happens to chickens -- or rather, food we eat on a weekly, or even less than weekly basis? Chicken = food. Mass production is an effective way to obtain the food in larger quantities, and faster. Producing food this way is smart, rather than having them grow slower and in very low quantities.
Looking at it from a different point of view is comparing the chickens to us humans -- we're both animals. As the video clip pointed out, chickens are harmless creatures. During the Holocaust, humans were treating thousands of other humans almost the same way. Chickens can think, and have their own little lives.
I myself have to disagree with the article, though. Chickens and humans are part of the food chain. Humans > Chickens. If you want to care for the chickens, go to some animal zoo and get yourself a chicken to take care of.
Well considering how all the chickens are bred in captivity, and that there are still chickens in the wild, I think that breeding them to be slaughtered is ok. It has become a source of large amounts of food.
And as for chickens feeling pain. If you believe that they do not feel pain, I think you don't know much about the nervous system of animals. Every chicken has the basic brain system, with a vertebrae and nerve endings. The main way that we differ from every other animal is in the frontal lobe of the brain, other than that we are very much like just about any other land vertebrae. (Some fish are different) If every other vertebrae can feel pain, why wouldn't chikens...

I believe that killing insects is wrong, as they are more of a help environmentally than most animals are.

Their going to be cut up, cooked, eaten, enjoy a nice warm acid bath in your stomach, digested, and end up as lumpy brown stuff in the sewer.
Why do people care so much about whats going to follow that same life?

Tell you what where do you live? that way i can ripe your insides out and feast on yourr flesh. no one should care right?
I dont give a crap about human life but the chickens! how horrible
plain and simple we are Evil humans eating once live Animals...
God we are so awesome!
Wuts the point of bein vegetarian? EVERY THING U EAT comes from a living thing. And for whoever said who cares how they die, how about you? WOuld u like to die just in an explosion or would u like to die bein tortured.
Honestly, doesn't matter to me, I don't plan on dying in a long while. Besides, it's all part of the food chain, humans are supposed to eat animals. I'm sure cavemen didn't have any problem with how their food died.

Another thing I was thinking. (Sort of a what I was somewhat saying with my cat example; The cat eat mouse, we eat chicken. Cat tortures mouse, We may or may not torture chicken)
We are doing the same thing animals do in the wild... I have seen my previous cat throw mice at trees and stuff. She broke its legs and eventually cracked its neck.
this is very odd...while i am reading this im eating KFC!!! yes i feel bad for the chickens for being thrown into walls and such and being stomped on but it doesnt stop me from eating their food. they met their goal in life to become somebody else's food with a little bit of sad torture in their life. maybe KFC will inforce their policies.
Oh god dont pull the vegetarian bull on me.

Dear lord, just because you choose not to eat meat doesn't mean you're not killing animals. Do you think that while farmers are on their tractors and they see a rabbit, they swerve out of the way to dodge it? Hell no, they just tread on. For more information as to why being a vegetarian is pointless, you should see Maddox's "Guiltless Grill" article, it truly does bring up some good points (like the tractor and rabbit scenario).
No you should see his article on for every animal you don't eat, I'm going to eat three.
