Since you live in the U.S.
so do you mean you use msn or aim?
ADDITION:
well i guess aim is only in america...
I have 219 contacts for AIM and only like 25 on MSN (they are from SEN) so I would say the majority of the people near me use AIM.
150 msn contacts.
10 AIM contacts
Numbers don't really count, I use both... more people use MSN here so I just happened to use it too.
Played around with MSN, didn't like it.
Played around with AIM, didn't like it much.
For me I basically use AIM, but not too often.
is aim mostly american only?
AIM here.
Everyone I know uses AIM. We live in America.

I use AIM and I have whole Earth between me and america
MSN is for canadians, and it seems the younger generation is using AIM.
MSN is just less populated
i use aim because no one uses msn and msn sucks
To tell you the truth, in Canada, AIM is pretty much nonexistant. I've never heard anyone using AIM, or asking me for my AIM. It's always MSN.
Around where I live everyone uses AIM. However, upon entering the SEN community I've also used MSN.
However, I still like the "simple" AIM interface compared to the MSN one. I guess it's like one preferring to use a Windows OS to a Mac OS when everyone says the Mac OS is better anyway. It seems like there is "too much" going on in the MSN program
Oh, and I guess it also has to do with having to put in an email when you use MSN.
Anyway, I don't IM as much anyway so I don't care which I use.
If think trillian is alot better, why? because no text limit on profile and no ads!
It can log on to aim, msn, ICQ, google talk,or yahoo with a tiny use of bandwith then the regular program uses. The interface is easy to use as well. Yoo can login to multiple accounts at the same time, it also has IM window grouping. Your able to add other IM clients that it dosen't already have.

Yes, everyone I know wouldn't know what AIM is in Canada. Everyone uses MSN, and that's why I use it.
I dislike the company AOL, but... AIM is just useful... Anyway.. anybody here use Yahoo Messneger?
I use MSN, but I would find it unbearable if there was no option for turning off custom emoticons. Namely because of stupid teenage girls that have every other letter set as a giant sparkly version of said letter.
I don't mind the names, so long as you don't use "plus" without plus they're always black and you can read the different coloured/fonted/formated text.

Sorry Warhammer.
Seriously, I use Trillian because half my friends use MSN and the other half use AIM...
Thats what I meant by I use a custom AIM and MSN too. I use Adium. It has TONS of chat programs on it, and its VERY VERY customizable. Another score for Macs on this app.
I really want to get a Mac, they just seem so cool.
Don't go over to the dark side... I mean the light side...
Let the hate flow through you my child.
