Ugh, is there a good tutorial on EUDs so i can figure out what they are? I've tried looking for one but none are really any bit helpful.

No, normal unit deaths are an alternative to switches and waits, not EUD's.
EUD's allow you to change game memory; things like unit stats, unit names, upgrade levels, terrain, where locations are, etc.
