The fact that I love old-school maps so much (because they're fun but at the same time uncomplicated) is one of the reasons why all my maps were made in that style.

Take Civ Massacre (Mass Murder), for example. It's one of the worst maps I've ever made but people played it for hours until they realised how rubbish it was.

Space-Survival was another map which was technically dire but some people still liked.

Hehe all of them were fun. Civ Massacre was very hard but still wasted a lot of time on it . I remember the maps that I used to play a lot were original archon tag and cat and mouse. Oh and Matrix defence, I remember I was so amazed that those "complex" maps.

My first game I ever played was...simpsons madness, then, I played msf, and then evolves, back in 200, at least! maybe even '99. Yeah, those were the days you didn't listen in class, just to think about starcraft, and what map will you find next? My personnal half oldtime fave, scv football biggrin.gif . I should join clan scv since I play it so much, its the only map I never got bored of.

All the good old-school maps out there are based on one thing: fun. A lot of the last two year's maps were too concerned with being technically superior and the mappers have forgotten that fun and simplicity should be the first priorities when making a map (in my opinion).

ROFL you made CIV massacre?!? My respect for you has drop

JK. Lol that map was fun. I couldn't imagine some guy like you naming all those units and stuff the way they were named. (Like the beacons were called "Pick me, biznatch" and "More units, ass")

But yes, simplicity and fun. That's how pretty much all of my maps have been. I dont care if they're complex or not or whether other people could make them just as easily. As long as it's the first of its kind to come out (or rarely seen) and people enjoy it, then my mission is accomplished.

That must have been a different Civ Massacre, or a stolen version (I don't really mind if my maps are stolen although it is annoying). My map was one where there were 6 of you and you started with one guy each (marine, ling or zealot), and you had to organise a defence to prevent masses of civs getting to a beacon. If one civ made it to the end, you lost. I think people only found it had good replay value because it was so frustrating.

I remember your map with the fighters and missiles which you could aim - that was fun stuff.
