1: zerg...overlord is the first thing they make, and they can get drop pretty fast. No, i'm not doing any "research" to get the exact seconds, waste of time,
2: terran 'can' fly buildings and land 2 rax at ur main and go M+M and screw you in like 8 minutes (happened to me, i got damn noobed that game...2 tanks woulda saved me, o well i hate dire straits)
3: toss are the WORST at island maps...gl playing snowbound or gorky...i wont even comment on the map itself, but...2 goons in a dropship. 2. maybe i'm just newb, but toss ground is what owns, in my opinion. sure, mass carrier is 'fun', but i have a rep of a 1v1 on polaris prime where mass wraith + comsat (yeah i hate 8 ground damage too) whooped some carrier+obs dude's ass.
Anyway...as for terrain...it's the way you make it. Many people claim that ridges help terran, and this is true, but...I think they should get creative. I make due (when I played random) with templar drop on ridge, and I storm his miners, etc...cannon ridge, whatever you want. Zerg, dunno
, tanks are way faster than defilers or such and even that is kinda garbage. (plague their miners/cc, follow up with some lings or something)
Island maps, every toss I play screws it up somehow. Arbs+recall help but ...so much energy and so late into the game...
But for tilesets, I don't think any gives a specific advantage, and I'd need to agree with Valug about the pointlessness of the topic itself, and it probably SHOULD be locked before we get some geniuses that say the ramps on desert are thicker and better for tanks/rines. Oops, too late. ;-/
and it's even better when i don't see a single melee map/island map by 95% of the posters in this topic. I love peoples "experience". (BTW the gay maps I have up here sux0r my nutz0r and the almost ok ones haven't been accepted yet, so don't flame me about my maps being garbage, I already know -.-)
