Well, Books are good for your brain and it helps you be better at reading and I think it improves your eyesight...im not sure though about this tongue.gif... But books rock also...go books.

Movies are also decent, but they hurt my eyes and in the theatre they blasts my ears...But I like it in the movies because sometimes when you dont want to read your ass off, just go to the movies and watch a movie to relax and shiz.

I tend to read book first than watch the movie. Movie is probably I call for free-time relaxation and book for in-my-room read it all night day.

I tend to prefer watching a movie, since it's faster. I might read the book after the movie if it's good, since most people say the books are always better than the movies. However, I think reading the book after seeing a movie kills the imagining bit of reading since you are already confined to what you have seen.

i think that books are more informative towards whats going on in a story, movies are more broad, its different from books to movies

You guys have to admit, seeing things exploding is a little more exciting than reading about it.
I mean seriously, books are great and all, but I have a feeling if I gave you the chance to read the book or watch the movie, most of you would watch the movie.
Maybe it's because you find reading for a long period of time "work".

I would rather watch a movie then read a book, but who wouldn't?
Its only because movies are unique and I don't watch them a lot. Once every 3 weeks, if I'm lucky.
But, books are nicer and more compact

i think movies are better because they offer images unlike books where you just have a poorly drawn cover. movies also provide sound and you can actually see the scenes. books do not offer this. you can explain the most detailed scene on text but you can never really see it how the author sees it.

the down side of movies is that they will change or remove/add parts that were not in the book. this isnt a major downside but it is something to consider.

I find many books that are "Interesting" to be any god. There have only been a few (Like 15ish) books that acutally made me glad I read the book, most of the time I was forced to. Like Alex Rider series and Artemies Fowl, I like those books, something like Redwall which is supposivly "Awesome" in my friends words are flat out boring. Some books I was forced to read but didn't mind reading was things like Of Mice and Men and To Kill a Mocking Bird. In some cases where I acutally read the book then saw the movie, it was flat out ruined, like the way I inturupted "Holes" the book was a lot different then what happened in the movie. However certain things should be made into movies, like Lord of the Rings, if I thought the MOVIE was boring then I can't imagine what the books would be like. Harry potter shouldn't since there's a lot of side things that can be cut out but are needed in later books (Like that ghost guy who was suppose to be in the 2nd book but was cut out for some reason).

I like action and fast paced things, books are great at times but a lot of them have a tendecy to be "Descriptive" which is ok to an extent, an exmaple of too much description is Hatchet by Gary Paulson I think, it's like 10 pages on some fish, I get the point already it's not like i've never seen a fish in my life. Anyway depending on what your looking for one can be better then the other. For me my expirances with movies has been greater then with books.

Movies are NOT unique, especially if they're of a book. I havent seen ANY movies out recently that hasnt been done before.

That's the problem with today's youth, they have no immagination. You depend on visual aids because that's how you grew up, raised on video games and TV, rather than books.

Ze' books are better because they are more broad to stories, books are addictive in sort of a way. I read 620 pages in one day before.

620 pages in one day? You must be a fast reader.

I have a really good sense of visuallizing scenes in books. Probably because i can always vizualize things.
