Well, for one thing. Books give you more detail and information. But take a hell of a long time to finish. While on the other hand, movies are in your face and you see everything as how you see it. Movies may turn 50 pages that will take weeks to read into a 20 minute scene. While it seems books takes weeks to finish, movies take only a few hours to finish. You can always sit down, relax, grab some popcorn and coke to watch a movie. In books, there will always be that word that you wont understand, and lose track of the scene in hand.
Give your opinions on which is better.
Uh...Books are more for the people that actually have a life. If you watch movies all your life, it means that you don't really focus on your reading skills, but your video skills. It is more important to read books because it will comsume time when your bored and they are more educational...
You can include more detail in a book and you can see what the character is thinking. Books are also more portable than movies, and they tell the story as the author wanted it to be told, not edited or changed to satisfy a movie audience.
Books are also cheaper, and you don't have to go anywhere to read them.

How about them movies with subtitles, thats multitasking right there!
I brush up on my reading and listening skills at the same time!
I think book is a lot better than movie. For example, Harry Potter and Goblet of Fire was really good in book although it took forever for 5th to come out... But on the other hand, the movie really sucked. I hated the movie. Maybe for some people who never read the book might have found the movie pleasing, but I found the movie dull and missing out many necessary pieces that should have been added to the story.

Books are what you use in school most of the time also. Books are for the educational peopel and movies are for the desperate people that are always bored and never go to schoolwork as an option to kill time.
Movies are good when you read a book and there is action in it. In the movie it will probably be a lot more entertaining. With a book however, can get more detail in the story and will probably be better than the movie.
But sometimes... liek with reading tolkien, the movie was better.
Was I the only one who got so bored halfway through teh two towers that I ended up skimming the rest of it and I was like: I didn't know there was some huge battle at helms deep! What the hell are you talking about?
Yes me too. I just stopped reading in the middle of The Two Towers. It got too boring for me. That was the only case where the movie was bettr than the book. The hobbit was good though.
I don't think there's a tolkein book under the sun I read entirely through... but of course, I tend to skim books that bore me anyways.
I don't like reading fantasy type books like lord of the rings. Those kind of books I'd rather watch on the screen than read it. I would rather read sci-fi type books, or futuristic type; though, it all depends on what how the book is written for me....
Books are better if you want people to think you're smart.
Because the harry potter books had a lot more educational things to learn in them, instead of the movie.
Information is information. Don't complicate things.
Books > Movies.
With Books, you get the whole story. Like with Jurrasic Park. The movie blows ass compared to the book.
Same with LOTR, Dune, and every other book to movie thing.
doing both is fun, watching the movie and then reading the book, you find more stuff about it then u would just doing 1 of them.
I like reading the book and then watching the move (mostly to point out flaws etc).
One book I think a movie should be made out of should be Ender's Game. Maybe the Adept Series too. Good books, Good books.
Oooh... an Ender's Game movie would be good... but then again, alot of the thoughts of Ender and the little bits at the beginning of the chapter from Graff's perspective really make the book great. They'd be hard to re-create in a movie.
I like star wars books.....get some Clone War's novels...read em...
I tend to prefere books over movies. Sure, they take longer but for whatever reason they are more interesting. They also don't rush through stuff. Granted, I hate righting answers to stupid questions for school on the book. Besides, movies always find how to make good books into horrible movies. I'm not to mcuh a fan of Harry Potter, but the book was fine and the 3rd movie was utterly horrible. 50 minerals the da vinci code sucks while the book was really good.
I prefer movies because I get bored easier when Im reading a book than when im watching a movie but you can get more details in books
Books may be more boring than Movies, but if you read a book right, you would imagine a movie going on while you read the book.

Add a Book Every Week, add a Movie Every 2 Weeks, now you've Got a Balanced Life Style !

More like 2 books in a week and 1 movie every 3 days...That should be the average life of a person...which is...bad...but people make their decision...
Books are more detailed and have no limit.
Movied have a limit and not as detailed (But can be). I think i like both... mostly the movies the best.
So I see. Im about to read Halo: The Flood which is based on the game, now I have to see which one gives out more details. Obviously the book, and I just know there is more things you can read that you dont play in the game.
