To be honest I find most school curriculum a waste of precious time, all through out high school in every english class. Besides the books we read and the lenth of essays and the such there was not much difference, 2 years of engligh at most.
I see math as the only subject worthy of 4 years of my time because you happen to advance in your skill. Algebra I (freshman),Algebra II (sophmore), geometry(summer-school) Calculus(Juinor) Math Analysis(senior).
You should have the option of making school a bit more specific, to be able to choose more of your classes.
We actually had an 'auto-tech' class at our school that taught us all that

The human lifecycle is pointless. They are born and taught. They disobey and learn lessons in life. The they have children and teach them the same things. Then their children learn the same things as their parents and have their own children. School and the human life cycle are a waste of time.

i beg to differ if i may. 
i find that school doesn't take up that much time at all. for me it's as follows:
wake up at 6:30
leave at 7:30
arrive at 8:15 (roughly)
period 1: 8:45-9:45
break
period 2: 9:55-10:55
mentor/assembly
period 3: 11:20-12:20
lunch/house leagues (12:20-1:15)
period 4: 1:20-2:20
break
period 5: 2:30-3:30
homework (even at the gr.11 level) takes me no more than 2.5 hours.
