There you go, I put some more meat in the prizes.
As much as I like vehicle maps, my mapping style simply isn't deadline friendly...

Ah, what the hell, I'll enter, even though my StarForge is so buggy I may have to use it only for the text colors.
w00t! My specialty! (well almost)
Guess I'll temporarily put a halt to my minigame map
It would be nice if we could try real prizes, like money for instance. I remembered in Chu's contest, he gave the winner some money through paypal.
Why are the prizes so low again? This payoff is like miniscule compared to the other contest. I suppose it's lesser because it only gives one week to do it.

They cancelled that contest and spent everyone's pot donations, the illegitimate childs. I've lost all faith in their word.
You know what'd I'm expecting out of this?
Moose to switch the theme with 2 hours left and a bunch of people to get confused.
Isn't 1 week a tad short?

ยป No map dimensions larger than 96x96.

Thats farking bullshiz man! come on! wtf thats garbage that really pisses me off. Come on, why cant it be 128x128? You just ruined me!
ADDITION:
PS. any one that thinks 1 week isnt enough is dumb. It only takes on week of work to make a map at the max. you people are just lazy mofos. Even if he gave you a year, you would still only start the big triggers during the last week.
T-masta, you really need to shut your mouth.
If you don't like the rules, DON'T PARCIPITATE.
He probably doesn't want to judge these huge maps, and 128 or 256 maps take a long time to make, if they are good.-
All it does is restrict creativity. But I guess thats not what he wants in the maps. My map needs to be 128x128 for the fun factor and the replayability. 128 maps are tiny. Dont tell me to shut my mouth, it is shut, im typing.
I'm okay with the 96x96 map size limit but I wish it could have been 128x128, because my buggy Starforge is forcing me to use the clunky StarEdit inventory triggers and it's really biting chunks out of the game area.
If your creative, you can make a 64x64 or 96x96 dimension map. Finding ways around restrictions is just a challenge in map making. All it can do is help to improve one's map making skills.
Maps can take over one week. Usually maps that are made in a few days don't turn out as well as they could if they were made over a few months (which are usually large RPG projects or campaigns).
if I were to make a 96x version of my map, it would loose all its different levels. It would get boring. Why not just let any map size under the 500kb?
Because they've set the rules, and the rules are law?
Maybe next time you should consider that before immediately plunging into the creation of the map.
The idea is to have compact and efficent maps, not huge productions. I'm not asking for the best four hour RPG ever, just something simple and fun.
I know, but my map is simple and fun. I could make it 96x96 easily but I want more levels to play on. Makes it more fun I think. Oh well I guess its gona be short n' sweet.
Well, either you didn't read the guidelines or you're breaking the first guideline... because you shouldn't have made a 128x128 in the first place.
