Here's a little something I've decided to try out this month. The idea is to set a common theme and a bunch of rules and judging criteria tailored to it. The winner is the one who makes the funnest map featuring the theme. Now, I'm not asking for anything big, as you'll only have one week to make your map. Maps will be judged by me or anyone I deem fit to judge the maps.
February's Theme: Vehicles
Anything and everything to do with vehicles. Cars, planes, boats. Maybe you have to steal a bunch as in "Gone in 60 Seconds", maybe you have to run around as a driver taking them over and fighting wars, maybe you have to build your own and battle them against others, maybe you have to crash them and cause destruction.... just get some vehicle action in there!
Guidelines
» Must be an original map not made prior to the contest. Steal a map or send in an old one and I'll eat your children.
» No map dimensions larger than 96x96.
» No map over 500kb.
» Any number of players acceptable.
» No team projects.
» You may submit up to three entries, but only the highest scoring entry will be placed and recieve a prize.
» No entry fees.
» Feel free to protect your map. The playing end will be emphasized more than the creation end.
Submission deadline is over. Sorry, you lose.
Judging Criteria
Theme (15) - Obviously this is the name of the game. If the map isn't even remotely related to the theme, it won't score very well. A map scoring 0 on this won't be graded further. Something that looks premade and just custom fit with a few text messages won't score very well.
Fun (20) - Important for me as I'm playing the map. Am I running around having a good time, or watching a unit talk to itself in a movie? If I ever go to this map again, is it going to be to play it with friends or to delete the scm/scx? This is probably going to be the deciding factor in contest entries.
Aesthetics and Professionalism (15) - Did you use one type of tile and no text color? Are there mispellings distracting me at every turn with some poorly made triggers? Hopefully you can create something that looks and feels decent. I'm not asking for extensive extended terrain or hundreds of sprites, a map with a unique feel to it should score at least an easy 10.
Prizes
Yeah, you thought I'd just make you do this for fun? Prestiege? Honor? HAH!
First place: 600 minerals
Second place: 300 minerals
Third place: 150 minerals
Noteworthy Mention*: 75 minerals
*to be given at my discretion. There may not always be any.

No, team projects aren't allowed. If you must, just only put your name on it so I can't tell. But seriously, these aren't supposed to be the most massive extravagent maps ever created. You shouldn't need a partner.

Vehicles...that sucks i've never made a Modern Day or like a Mass map or something....I Specialize in Fantasy stuff....o well, I'll Sit it out til next Contest

My map is kinda like mario Kart. It has a cool driving system and all the items. It will be 6 players and I'm deciding if I want it to be 2x speed or not.
