It's going to be my own ideas... Ideas will be taken from AvP2, but it won't follow the story or anything.

Cloaked Predators will be DT's, and aliens will be able to see them when they step into their view (I'll mess around until I find a well-sized location) Humans will be able to see when the DT is right up to them, since you'd know where it is by the time it started attacking you with the blades.

Oh I didn't think it would follow the AVP2 story at all. You said so yourself it was a Multiplayer map, and I took it as a Team Deathmatch, just like in AVP2 multiplayer. Aliens VS Predators VS Marines.

I just got a great idea! Spells! Or... Abilities as I'll be calling them in the game, don't want to get too far from the subject matter...

Alien Spells -

Scent: Displays all Human enemy locations on the minimap.

Vent Climb: Allows you to move through vents

Marine Spells -

Motion Tracker: For one minute the Motion Tracker is active.

First Aid: Heals you.

Predator Spells -

MediComp: Heals you.

Cloak: Gives you Dark Templar.

I'll need at most seven spells for each race, this leaves one spot open in the dropship for a unit that tells you how to play.

[EDIT] Better idea, Aliens have Abilities, Marines have Items, Predators have Tools [/EDIT]

Also, what will be each races objective?...
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Valahan on 2004-06-13 at 21:08:41
Each team has 2 objectives, each regarding the other teams.

Alien Objectives:
-Destroy the Marine Satellite Uplink.
-Predator??

Marine Objectives:
-Kill the Hive Queen.
-Predator??

Predator Objectives:
-Destroy the Marine Satellite Uplink.
-Kill the Hive Queen.

The thing about this is that it could get messy. Lets take the predator, for example.

Predators are going around, trying to do their objective. The Aliens end up destroying the Marine Satellite Uplink, so they get instant credit(goal 1 of 2 achieved).

Yet Predators don't know its been destroyed, so they still have (goal 0 of 2 achieved). The predators would have to go to the location of the Satellite uplink, to get 'visual confirmation' that the Uplink has been destroyed. THEN they would get (goal 1 of 2 achieved).

And so on and so forth.

What would be better, however, is each race having DIFFERENT objectives from the other races. I'm keeping the above intact because it's still an idea.

Alien Objectives:
1-Incubate humans(like, 8?)(they have to go into the Terran sector and kill some neutral civilians, which in turn gives a neutral civilian in the Alien base. It takes maybe 2-5 minutes for a captured civilian to be Egged and killed)(make it so the predator shouldn't attack civilians)(Incubated Civilians can be force killed in the Alien base to "save" them.)
2-Entrap and kill Predators(6?). They have to lure predator's to a "set" random location(changes each time an ambush is tried, successful or not), which is where an alien ambush(with computer assistance) happens. This way, predator's won't know where the ambush happens, and can't outright avoid ambush).
3-Destroy the Predator Ship. When this happens, cut to cutscene, where the rest of the aliens are able to concentrate on the humans. GG Preds and Marines.

Marine Objectives:
1-Return power to the entire Facility, fix some wiring or something, and turn on the Satellite Uplink. (make the power generator somewhere far off enough so that it isn't too easy.)
2-Capture Predators(7?) in the name of science. Each time they kill a predator, they "acquire" it in their lab.(Captured Predators are rescuable by the Predators)
3-Capture 1 Hive Queen. When they kill it, cutscene ensues where they subdue the queen and turn the hive on the predators... GG Preds and Aliens.

Predator Objectives:
1-Destroy the Satellite Uplink and destroy computer terminals(3??).
2-Collect heads(25 total?).
3-Kill the Hive Queen. After killing the Queen, cut to cutscene where predators start cloaking and making their way to the Marine sector, where it's GG Marines and Aliens.

If it's an installation map, have the predator ship docked in a bay.

I think the above is all pretty balanced. Each races main Objective is their third one. the other ones are gravy. Make it so that the race gets a reward for accomplishing certain objectives.

Aliens:
-By incubating 8 humans, the aliens now have the ability to "become" Praetorian.
-Or, when they ambush 6 predators, they then get a regular "mini" patrol of computer controlled aliens attacking the Predator ship location.

Marines:
-when they fix the satellite uplink, they get regular "reinforcements" that help the Marines out.
-When they capture 7 predators, they've had enough time to analyze Cloaking technology, sort of, and are now able to "detect" cloaked predators for 10 seconds at a time or something.

Predators:
-When they destroy the satellite uplink... u come up with something for this -_-
-When they collect 25 heads, they gain shields(before 25 heads collected, their shields(not too much) are constantly set to 0. After 25 heads, they spawn with full shields and can recharge them with time.)

PS: My brain just died. crazy.gif

I was thinking about marines setting up explosives around the complex, but this idea is nicer... Umm...

Must be completed in this order...

Marines

1 - Restore Power To Complex

2 - Repair Satillite Uplink

3 - Retrieve One Alien Specimen (any form)

4 - Set Explosives In The Hive(s)

5 - Escape With Explosives Still In Place

Predators

1 - Collect Ten Heads

2 - Kill Queen

3 - Leave Complex With Twenty Heads

Aliens

1 - Find Host

2 - Find Something To Eat To Become Drone

3 - Collect Three Hosts

4 - Eliminate Threats To The Hive (all human players)

5 - Leave Complex To Construct New Hive

Marine Items

1 - First Aid (heal)

2 - Motion Tracker (Motion Tracker active for one minute)

3 - Hacking Tool (allows you to use computers once power is online)

4 - Ammunition (reload)

5 - Weapon One (?)

6 - Weapon Two (?)

7 - Weapon Three (?)

8 - How To Play

You have it set up as : Alien VS Human, Pred VS Human, Human VS Alien...

The Predator "objectives" are too easy and resemble too much like a killing spree. 20 kills(19 kills+1 Queen) and they win.

The Aliens is nublar. You just eliminated your entire Alien species by forcing to become a Drone? You have to find a host as a Face Hugger, then kill something as a Chest Burster... easy to do in AVP2, not so easy in SC... there are things like shadows and not moving when humans are facing your general direction, which in turns leads to stealth and not being killed(in AVP2). Chestbursters will die too easily. They can't really kill people/preds, and they don't have alot of life or armor. A few shots and they're dead.

The humans are the most advanced for objectives, but kinda censored.gif up. You wouldn't really be able to walk into a hive(with a Queen/Aliens watching you), plant explosives, and run like hell... Don't you think the aliens would slash at the wires to stop the bomb?

EDIT: Don't make the weapons interchangable... that will just result in UBER cheese. The human walks into the hive(as weapon 1). Single handedly starts killing stuff, when almost dead, switches to weapon 2. Ohh look, full life. When weapon 2 almost dead, switch to 3. Oh look, full life... again. THEN they can waste a med-kit(I hope they get used up or require some kind of energy. It's kinda cheap to have infini med-kits.

Preds and Marines should start off each life with a specific weapon. When they die, give them a seperate dropship which holds the weapons... they drop the unit, bam, thats what they get for that life. No ifs, ands or buts.

You can just store the weapons somewhere so once a weapon gets too damaged, you won't want to switch to it anymore. By just moving them around into of creating them you can give each weapon a seperate health.

Ok...

Spells can be used over and over (with enough energy)

Items will be used only once then discarded (you can find and get more, if you have sufficient space in your inventory (dropship)

Marines will be...

1. Motion Tracker (Spell)

2. Hacking Tool (Spell)

3. Medkit (Item)

3. Ammo (Item)

I then I could have them start with 2 First Aid Kits and 2 ammo clips...

And maybe if you had space you could find another spell item...?

IMA GENIUS, WHO WOULD OF THOUGHT OF A DROPSHIP FOR INVENTORY!?...

...Inventory is different than spells!

Dropship Menu

Dropship Inventory is the same as spells. It's just alot faster than using those damned "bring civilian to a beacon 3 miles away and takes forever before spell happens".

We've already covered that Zombie, stop living in the past... tongue.gif

Zombie, sometime could I take a peek at Aliens: Code H...?

I just got an idea for the aliens... I know the aliens won't be carrying any items in their dropships, so why not add a RPG-like element with the skills... Obviously I'm talking about learning skills over time or after gathing kills... 3 kills later... You Have Learned Headbite!

[EDIT] New Idea, maybe with the objectives I could have that story mode, then a different mode, (deathmatch, team dm, ect) can be chosen.
